Hi. I want to make an overnight trip to Ely. I have a voucher code for a 20% discount for a hotel. The voucher runs until some time in March, however the stay needs to be booked by the end of this month (ie Wednesday). I was thinking of booking this Thursday-Friday, as it's a good price, and the weather looks ok. The two TOCs I'd be using (Southeastern and Great Northern) aren't actually on strike those days, only the overtime ban, so I'd though I'd be OK. Now I've seen both LNER and Greater Anglia have a strike on the Friday. Do you think this might affect my journey, make the trains busier? Should I go as planned, or put it off until another time, which would mean taking a chance with the weather.
