I know that if was I to travel from London to Guildford, Sevenoaks or High Wycombe I would by a boundary ticket. The other way around I would get a single to Surbiton, Knockholt or West Ruislip (respectively).

That's not my issue.
The stations in question are:
  • Broxbourne (oyster)
  • Watford Junction (LO/oyster)
  • Shenfield (Lizzie/oyster)
  • Slough/Reading (Lizzie)

Apart from the first named I get free travel on slower trains. I understand that GA, LNWR and GWR aren't obligated to provide free travel from those stations.
What I would to know how to get best value ticket from these stations on faster trains.

I have a DPRC.

The Freedom Pass map clearly states that the freedom pass is only valid on the TfL services beyond zone 6. If you want to use faster services then you must purchase a ticket to/from the boundary of zone 6.
