On a point of pure trivia I just noticed the following consecutive departures on Tuesday 18th August from Manchester Piccadilly to Stockport:

07.18 TPE
07.24 Northern
07.27 CrossCountry
07.30 Transport for Wales
07.35 Avanti West Coast
07.42 EMR

Six different operators, each operating just one service, in the space of 25 minutes.

Is there anywhere else that has such a (preferably consecutive) mixture of different TOCs serving two stations? I can't think of anywhere.

Not as many as your example, I'm afraid, but on Monday 17th August, from Birmingham New Street to Wolverhampton, there are:

06:15 - Avanti West Coast
06:25 - Transport for Wales
06:39 - West Midlands Trains
06:53 - CrossCountry

You'd be hard pressed to beat that mix - Manchester Piccadilly to Stockport is the pairing with the highest number of TOCs operating services IIRC

Yes, that really seems unbeatable. The only other place I could think goes near it, apart from the Wolverhampton quoted above could be Edinburgh to Haymarket or vv (Scotrail, XC, LNER and TPE) and I doubt you’d find four separate departures like your or the Wolverhampton example.

There's also Avanti. Wonder if it would happen one by one during the day like in the first example

So many Scotrail services through Haymarket that sadly after each instance of XC/LNER/TPE/VT calling there, a Scotrail service immediately comes before and after it, meaning sadly this is not a contender. I imagine Stockport is the downright winner on this one.

Newcastle to Morpeth looks to have consecutively:
14.21 TPE
15.02 Northern
16.35 CrossCountry
16.42 LNER

Bit longer between each one though, and doesn’t come close to Stockport!

This is one of those annoying times where the example in the opening post can’t be beaten, so it’s kind of killed off before it starts, you get that a lot with threads like this!

Sorry... I did genuinely discover it by accident. Anyway, the Newcastle to Morpeth one is a good example too.
