I have just watched a 1989 episode of Top of the Pops. It featured Queens video for their single Breakthrough. The band were on the Nene Valley Railway being pulled along on an open flat wagon miming to their song. What other bands have filmed videos on a preserved railway?

Visage, The Damed Don't Cry (The Anvil, 1982); Kent & East Sussex Railway. Some great interior shots of Pullman Barbara, which at that time was the bar car in the Wealden Pullman. YouTube link here.

Now there’s been so many of these threads over the years that it’s hard to work out which one covers it all the most comprehensively. But I think this was the one that mopped the most of it up (all eleven pages of it!).
Worth a look...

This thread pops up from time to time.

From memory:-
  • Lasgo - Something. Not filmed in the UK though, but a great song :D.
  • Manic Street Preachers - The Everlasting. Filmed at Euston by the look of it. I believe the music video was controversial at the time due to the depiction of somebody on fire.
  • Bloc Party - I still remember. The opening scene shot on the DLR. however as the camera pans back, it’s certainly not a DLR train. Nor do guards dress like the guard in this video did!
