Trivia: Stations named after countries.

A few weeks ago I discovered that St Petersburg in Russia has a station called Finland Station. Are there any other examples of railway or metro stations named after countries, either in the UK or abroad?

I have put this in the International Transport section as my guess is that most examples will be outside the UK.

Valid. It's named after a housing estate that was named after the island that had been acquired by Britain. The DLR also has West India and East India.

There is Denmark in South Carolina, United States, served by Amtrak.

And of course Denmark Hill in South London, or are we excluding GB stations? Locality supposedly named after Queen Anne's husband, who was a Prince of Denmark.

Stations in the UK count, as do stations with the country making up only part of the name.

So Denmark Hill counts, as does Canada Water. Swiss Cottage is borderline.

O.k. How about Turkey Street in the Enfield area? (Etymology uncertain but probably nothing to do with the Middle Eastern country)

Also Lebanon Road on the Croydon tramlink.

There is a Gare de Luxembourg in Paris too.

There is Holland Park underground station in London, but it is named after the former Holland House nearby.

Jamaica station is a major station of the Long Island Rail Road located in Jamaica, Queens, New York City.

Bermuda Park, near Nuneaton. The nearby Bermuda Village is named because the local landowner, Sir Edward Newdigate, was a former governor of Bermuda.

There's a region of Belgium of that name - so it might not refer to the Principality.

There is a Gare de Luxembourg in Paris too.

Luxembourg is the name of a district in central Paris - so maybe not named directly after the country/principality.

Macedon, Victoria, Australia (named after Kingdom of Macedonia which lends its name to the current country of North Macedonia and Macedonian region of Greece)

....meanwhile, on the Paris Metro system, there's Place d' Italie, Anatole-France, Argentine, Luxembourg, Avenue de France - and Nation, which could cover a multitude of different countries!

A non-example from New York is Jamaica. The station, as well as the surrounding neighborhood, take their name from an old native word for "beaver" and not from the island of the same name.

There is a Lebanon station on the Raritan Valley line of the New Jersey transit system in the United States.

Swiss/French Railways Station to be accurate. Basel Badischer Bahnhof omits the "Railways" bit.

Berlin had an Anhalter Bahnhof, named after the then-independent state of (Sachsen-)Anhalt.
