Trolley service on EMR

Two weeks ago, I travelled to Nottingham from St Pancras by East Midlands Railway.
On the journedy there, the refreshments trolley came through Standard Class (and I bought a coffee and a chocolate bar to give her a sale )
On the journey back, the trolley got no further than First.
When I queried this, I was told by the young lady, that she only had to serve First (but she gave me a free tea).
Is it true that First should only get trolley service on EMR?

There's 2 different trolleys. A standard class one provided by Rail Gourmet for standard class, and a first class one that provides complimentary and some paid items to first class which is in house by EMR. The two don't crossover, though Rail Gourmet used to provide a limited weekend service. If the RG one is missing from standard (they aren't booked on all trains) then the first class host won't cover it.

Does the First Class offering change during the day or week? And if so, when is the best time to travel to get the best offering.

Presumably if travelling Standard, it's best to stock up beforehand.

As others state differing contractors, although given how busy EMR get getting the trolley through is tricky at the best of times, it is better to stock up where possible, there is the coop & tesco at Nottingham for a quick meal deal,
