Tube tracks separate when passing Acton Works

Just noticed it on Secrets Of The LU. I always thought that the South Acton District branch just came alongside the tracks to Acton Town, but the separation seems to suggest there might have been some viaduct coming down in the middle of the tracks. Does anyone know?

The South Acton branch ran alongside the eastbound District track away from Acton Town but had to cross Bollo Lane on a bridge.
The land naturally falls away after leaving Acton, the District tracks remain level

The area in the centre of the main line south of Acton Town, between the east and westbound Piccadilly tracks, is for [stabling?] sidings, maybe more in the past than the three there now. The South Acton branch had its own platform at Acton Town (still there, disused) on the east side of the station, and shortly after leaving the station in the Chiswick Park direction the branch curved away to the east, so it did not need to cross the mainline at all.

Latterly, yes, but according to the programme South Acton previously had trains from Hounslow etc, and this was the era in which I was suggesting a flying junction might have been used before subsequently settling down to the single carriage shuttle with the dedicated short platform.

After the station rebuilding in the early-30s it was not possible for South Acton trains to reach Hounslow or South Harrow.
Prior to that a flat junction converged at the entry to the sidings, the station at that time was three-track, 4-platform faces, allowing access to Hounslow

When the line was quadrupled in early 1930s (from just west of Turnham Green), the new tracks ran to south side of existing sidings, so ever since 3 stabling sidings have existed in between 2 pairs of tracks.

I use term sidings, but loop is better description for southern one as originally all three could be used to access both middle tracks at Acton Town, and at least one could be used to access Acton works headshunt
