I have a network railcard and want to get 1/3 off an off-peak day travelcard in London. I should be paying £10.60 but on the Southern website it's charging me the full £15.90 (even with my railcard selected).

I wish to get this as it's wierdly cheaper then the Zone 1-5 Oyster off-peak day cap (£14.60), so a travelcard is actually better value.

Please advise.

Have you selected a time before or after 1000?

It will be £13 on a weekday after 1000 because of the minimum fare, and £15.90 between 0930 and 1000 because the discount doesn't apply.

Southern website certainly applies the discounts in the expected manner for me.

Oh OK, I was selecting times after 09:30.

Also, when is the reurn for an off-peak day travelcard valid from? I thought it was before 16:30, but the website suggests I can return during the peak?

There is no evening restriction for travel within the Zones.

Within the Zones, there are no evening peak restrictions on a Travelcard.

Beyond the Zones, some Off-Peak Day Travelcards (particularly Super Off-Peak ones) have evening restrictions.

If the journey planner will offer you an Off-Peak fare on the train you select, it is contractually valid on that train and it is overwhelmingly likely that it is intended to be valid.
