Veolia didn't lose the NatEx contracts, they surrendered them.

None of their operations outside London have ever turned a profit - so far they've lost £7.somthing million in 5 years.

Speculation is mounting that they will sell up and get out soon....

They've also sold York (to Trasdev) and Hull (to EYMS).

Lincoln and Tuxford depots closed, and contracts were surrendered.

It's rumoured Yourbus are taking over further National Express contracts in Birmingham and the North East, presumably also from Veolia.

The irony is that that Yourbus is owned by Bob Dunn, formely of Dunnline, and the NX work they are taking over is what Veolia aquired when they bought out Dunnline! Premiere have taken over Veolias old Dunnline bus work in Nottingham, leaving just the former Paul James services coming in from East Leicestershire and Rutland. Veolia's Paul James side is still quite big in that area, plus West Leicestershire, and also operates the two main Park and Rides for Leicester.

My understanding is that the Dunn Motor Traction T/A Yourbus business is owned by Scott Dunn, not by Bob Dunn (who I believe is now involved with Rotala?). It does seem like their expansion is taking them back in the direction of re-building the Dunn-Line business!

I'm not sure Blindtraveler, as I think they surrendered some Birmingham based runs back to National Express. I share your experience of poor service from Veolia NX staff, on this occasion on the NX230 to Nottingham. A complaint to NX got an apology, but not the compensation I wanted for the luggage the driver damaged by throwing it out the coach and then screaming at a passenger who dared to complain about the way his luggage was treated!

Nowhere near enough to a Pacer :(
are, so i'm not just imagioning that - got a 310 dupe that was only running birmingham - leicester - nottingham on newyears eve last year and although my luggage was treated with respect, another lady had 2 bottles of bubbly broken during disembarkation at Leicester and the 2 drivers were v v v rood! I asked my taxi driver and he said the coach was in violia corprat livery with nx window stickers. Result, slightly baffling phonecall to nx customer care thanking and praising the vehicle and staff on the overnight 336 from Edinburgh and then damming the 2nd leg from birmingham to leicester as loudly as i could! No, I woant be sorry to see them go and hope v much that they dont continue to bid for rail franchises!
