VOR Tickets in Vienna

Browsing through the ÖBB website I noticed that various VOR tickets are for sale. Are these valid only for ÖBB trains or can they be used on the trams, underground and buses in Vienna?

Also noticed the SimplyGo! fun within the ÖBB app.Is this functionality limited to ÖBB trains or is valid for use on the Vienna public transport system?

VOR?

Verkehrsverbund Ost-Region – the transport association for Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland.

It says all public transport on the website, so I assume that covers everything else.

A single-trip ticket is valid for travelling one way. You may change to different lines in the course, but you may not interrupt your journey.
The day ticket is valid for one day on the stated date until 01:00 am on the following day on all public transport services in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland.

VOR tickets cover trains, including Railjets within the area (but not CAT).

All Austrian Verkehrsverbünde/regions differ from Germany in that, I think.

If you buy, e.g., Flughafen-Wien Hbf from ÖBB it is actually a VOR zonal price ticket.

According to ÖBB, SimplyGo is valid on ‘all regional buses and city transport where tariff association tickets are accepted’ once checked in, which would include VOR tickets on Wiener Linien which is specifically listed as an example.

Once you have successfully checked in, you can use the following means of public transport within Austria, including corridor routes:

• ÖBB regional and long-distance trains
• ÖBB buses within Austria
• Selected regional trains (e.g. GKB and GYSEV)
• All regional bus and city transport operators that accept tickets issued by the transport associations (e.g. Wiener Linien, Graz Linien and Innsbrucker Verkehrsbetriebe)

It’ll charge the appropriate tariff association single or daily ticket rate.

They are valid in all public Transport in Vienna (as Long as they are valid in the City of course - VOR is a regional affair so there are tickets valid only outside of Vienna).

Indeed, but CAT, within Vienna, does not have a second stop to where you could use it.
