Hi everybody,
Last week I had to drive a freight train from Hannover to Leipzig. When I saw the train I was wondering about the type of wagons it consisted of, never had seen anything comparable before in Germany. They had 5 sections bound together and put on 6 bogies (4 jacobs bogies). It was named as a special flat wagon (S), the type inscription said: "Sefoors" and "Sefoorss". It has a dark tarpulin cover and bellows at its bending. It was registrated at BR and it there was a "CT"-logo painted on its wall, so it is suitable for channel tunnel freight trains, I know.
What kind of load are these wagons for? Is it possible that it is used as a new-car-carrier? There is a large BMW factory in Leipzig. Does anyone know which destination these trains are running? I forgot to see the car list of this train where the departing station is usually named.
When I was driving I noticed that the whole train was braking really bad. I always had to begin braking with the emergency position of my control handle, otherwise I would have a signal overrun. Does anyone know what kind of control valve is used in this type (I forgot to look after when I finished the trip in Leipzig) ? And why these wagons have such a poor braking habit when beginning to brake?
Thank you for your information..
