Walk up FIP tickets in Austria and Italy

Does anyone know if you can buy an FIP reduced rate ticket in either of these countries from regular ticket offices in stations.

Don't even need ticket office in Austria, can get FIP on tickets out the machine. Can't help with Italy though.

Hi - spent two weeks in Roma at the beginning of May and tried to buy FIP tickets at Roma Termini but long queues made it mission impossible. However, went to Roma Ostiense where it was easy to buy tickets from the two manned windows. They were most helpful and ensured we could visit Firenze and Napoli using the FIP concession.

You'll have no bother (sorry nae bother) obtaining FIP in Austria. Italy, well it is Italy, can be a bit hit or miss. That said we had no real problems getting tickets at Napoli Centrale & Siracuse recently.

What journeys do you have in mind?

Thank you very much for all the information folks. Yer an awfy helpful bunch. As it happens we're off to Vienna (with trips to Bratislava and Budapest)first from Amsterdam after that well still not sure...Verona/Venice/Milan still deciding.
