Hear enough negative stories about ticket offices so a positive story for once which I'll also feed back to EMR.

Had no issue getting a London International CIV ticket issued today, despite the member of staff saying she'd never done one before and initially questioning if it was even possible from Birmingham.

Struggled a bit so she asked a colleague for help instead of saying 'no' - a very knowledgeable fellow it turned out - done and dusted within a minute.

If only all ticket offices had such a helpful attitude when it comes to anything remotely out of the ordinary.

Bonus - it was printed as an actual ticket, not on bog roll. :D

I have found Leicester and Derby ticket offices to be helpful in the past.
You certainly wouldn’t believe that they are operated by the same company as Sheffield !

There is a chap called Martin at Leicester ticket office. He worked at the international section (which became a WHS years ago) in the mid 90s and used to sell me rail/sail tickets. He is still working at the booking office and is the most helpful person i know on the entire network.

Yes, that may have been him!

I'll probably use Leicester for any more complicated transactions moving forwards - they were very efficient - whereas over in Brum where I spend most of my time there's often a queue of 10+ people at the New St ticket office & in the past I've had problems with Avanti staff not having a clue.

I've never had an issue with them, changing dates on advance tickets was straightforward when I did it a few years ago

A ticket office selling the requested ticket which was asked for by name should not be a positive story. It’s the minimum expectation!
