I am travelling from Euston to Dagenham East this Saturday and due to engineering works I am planning to travel via Green Park and West Ham. However I have been told that West Ham station is closed this weekend, but can find no mention of this, can any one confirm this.

West Ham is open. The District Line is closed West Ham-Tower Hill for Crossrail works (as you obviously know) so it may be that your friend got the wrong end of the stick.
Thanks for the responses, confirming what I thought, he may be getting confused because I noticed it is up to Dagenham the week after.
