What do I need to operate private tours?

Hi All

Am thinking of supplementing my hospitality business in Skye with private guided tours of the island. Would definitely need to amend my insurance to cover business use. Not sure whether I'd effectively need a taxi license too?
Cheers

You would need a private hire license rather than a taxi license. If the tours would involve 8 or more people in one vehicle you would also need a PSV license.

Good idea, when cruise ships are in there's never enough transport for passengers. You will need a private hire licence and a vehicle which meets the specification of the licence provider which will be Highland Council.

Some councils set max age of vehicle, minimum standards, you may need a DBS check, CCTV, meter etc

Thankyou for all the advice. I currently run a 2012 Lexus GS which is low mileage and immaculate condition. Might fall foul of the age limit though!
