What stock could be used on Lumo services to Stirling, if they fail to aquire 222s in time?

If there is going to be a new depot, it's going to be Perth. We wanted to put one on the old Perth North Yard, which is still in NR ownership.

During the heady days of pre-Covid infrastructure spending, remodelling Perth station and the new depot would have allowed ScotRail to empty out the shed at Perth station, and shuffle some units from Eastfield and Haymarket, the latter of which is significantly over it's nameplate capacity.

This is already a prerequisite for rebuilding Perth, but building a LMD there for the 222s would provide a very useful incentive to get the ball rolling as it were.

So what is the stock of the last resort to start a service if the 22X plan fails?

Any freight operators with an electric path and suitable traction to meet the pathing requirements?

Back to the original Class 93 + legacy coaching stock + DVT if there are any serviceavle left?

Unless they can do 110, then no.

There is no plan B.

If the cl.222 stock didn’t appear (and that is very unlikely) the service doesn’t start until the new 80x come on stream from late 2027.

What coaching stock would be used ?
Are 93s compatible with driving van trailers ?

Looking at the sticker, I'd recommend a rake of stock with a total ETH of 96 or less.

Isn't it the control type that's important rather than the DVT? The original DVTs were fitted with TDM (I always want to call it "Time Distort Matrix) and the Chiltern's are fitted with AAR. Not sure what variety (if any) the 93s have.

What about the ex TPE Mk5s with a 93? They are available and a rake of 5 with a DVT would work until the 80x are available

Are they available? Do you know that?
As far as I am aware they are destined for Chiltern.

Will GWR's Castle Sets be available just in time to start the service off?

Can't have been many opportunities to take an HST service from Stirling to Motherwell. When would have been the last time you could take an HST from Carlisle down the wcml to Euston?
