For Ideas, Suggestions and Speculations of what TransPennine express could look like in the future with new services, stations and trains.
Can you elaborate as to who that would be useful for, and whether it would replace other services? What about some new services like 1tph from Liverpool-Newcastle via Sheffield?
Would XC run to Cleethorpes instead of TP, or alternatively a three way switch of XC Reading to Hull, Northern Sheffield to Cleethorpes and TP Liverpool to Newcastle via Sheffield and Doncaster? It would provide additional services from Sheffield-Newcastle, and could replace XC's doncaster Route.
Why not just run a Sheffield-Leeds-York-Newcastle-Edinburgh-Glasgow TPE service at that point? It would provide additional services from Sheffield-Newcastle, and could replace XC's doncaster Route.
Or just keep it with XC?Why not just run a Sheffield-Leeds-York-Newcastle-Edinburgh-Glasgow TPE service at that point?
Make it (Glasgow) more frequent and I agree.Or just keep it with XC?
Well by 2050 the TP Upgrade/electrification might be approaching completion. There will also be much speculation on these forums as to where the 185's might be redeployedFor Ideas, Suggestions and Speculations of what TransPennine express could look like in the future with new services, stations and trains.
Agreed. Hopefully rail passenger services will be planned more logically, without artificial splits / boundaries and fragmentation devised by some DfT person or consultant. It won't exist I expect.
