I was thinking Staines, anyone have any other suggestions?
I think that Waltham Cross probably wins with six routes.

Waltham Cross (6):
217 Go Ahead
279 Arriva
317 Metroline
327 Metroline
491 Metroline
N279 Arriva

Epsom (5):
166 Arriva
293 First
406 First
418 First
467 First

Loughton (5):
20 Stagecoach
167 Stagecoach
397 Stagecoach
677 Go Ahead
W14 Stagecoach

Potters Bar (4):
298 Uno
313 Arriva
626 Metroline
699 Uno

Staines (4):
117 First
203 First
216 First
290 First

Dartford (3):
96 Stagecoach
428 Arriva
492 Arriva

Most other places outside of London only have one or two TFL bus routes serving them.

That's quite an extensive list. I used AI to find a list but it couldn't. Did you happen to know it or use AI?

Epsom also has the S2 which operates from St Helier to Epsom via Sutton and Cheam - operated by Go Ahead, this replaced the Epsom section of the 470 when the buses in Sutton were re-jigged a few years ago. So gives that gives Epsom 6 TFL routes in total

Is Buckhurst Hill the only settlement - whether it should be classed as a town or a village is debatable - outside Greater London whose bus service is entirely TfL?

Mickleham which is served by TFLs 465 down to Dorking would seem to qualify, likewise Box Hill & Westhumble, and Hooley seems to be only served by the 405 down to Redhill.

Chigwell seems to only get TFL bus routes from what i can tell and thats in essex

Oh yes i forgot about that S2 service. TFL keep changing the buses so much that it is impossible to keep track of.

Is the route 999 a TFL bus too? It is not clear what it is and it has a very odd timetable?

I know Go Ahead London have a non TFL side (like the 669 to Dorking and the 77X routes to Coastal towns) so it may not be a TFL route. But if it is indeed a TFL service then that brings Epsom to seven TFL bus routes which would be the winner.

Given that link to the 999 clearly states it was only scheduled to run on one day - it's safe to say its not a TfL route. Highest numbered TfL route is 969.

Chigwell does have two infrequent services which are not TfL. They are Central Connect 18 (Loughton to North Weald every two hours) and Epping Forest Community Transport SB09 (from Stapleford Abbotts to Epping on Mondays and Debden on Wednesdays). Neither of these runs down the main street, but they do serve one stop within the parish.

Hooley, Mickleham, and Westhumble look like good calls, so they join Buckhurst Hill. Hooley was at one time in Greater London, but the village had a referendum in 1968 and voted for Crexit (sorry ...), whereupon it was shuffled from London Borough of Croydon to Banstead Urban District.

Having taken a closer look at the timings of that supposed 999 service, its scheduled to take only 1 minute to get from St Helier to Epsom, which even at midnight would be completely impossible, perhaps this is the result of some quirk of a timetable data upload, as opposed to ever having been an actual service

The 699 bus route gives an error when looking at its TFL page. Is it still operated by TFL?

Epsom was the town that came to mind when I saw the thread title. Didn't realise it was as many as six buses that is served by TfL.

The 999 might be related to the H1 NHS hospital service which is being wound down due to low passenger numbers and the introduction of the S2. Or it might just be a data entry related to the S2 itself.
