You talk about White Hart Lane like it’s Clapham Junction. And attractions nearby? Clearly not the Spurs Trophy Cabinet. Wahey!

But jokes aside, what attractions?

THFC are building a new hotel and office blocks over 100m to the south of the stadia. Also, a new small shopping precinct, library, cinema, gym bowling alley etc are to be built on site of current love lane estate.

Let's hope the good people of Tottenham appreciate it and don't spray graffiti all over it.

That’s sort of an answer to the comment before. Knowing what football fans are like, I fear ‘too much’ Tottenham branding will be asking for rivals to leave their mark. I lived in Tottenham a while and dearly loved it, but I do remember going to the gym on the opening day and watching someone smash a locker in.

Tottenham were looking to rename and brand it, but don’t believe they have been interested in paying the bill provided for this, unless anyone has heard more recently?

A shame this won't be completed until nearly a year after the stadium is open, I assume the construction work won't impact fans accessing the new stadium in August?

Work should also be well underway at Northumberland Park station on the direct line from Stansted to Liverpool Street. Last time I was there, last autumn , it looked as though they were building a bay platform and improving station access and buildings. Do you know of a completion date for that improvement and work ?

Most of it should be completed by December. Also, LO will probably shut the stations in the area because they won't be able to cope, unless they run a 15-18tph timetable.

Work is underway - the level crossing has now closed, and the station is being prepped for future four tracking. Hence a lot of weekend closures on this route

Oddly enough, the station will be in orange/red as seen in the pictures - Arsenal colours...

Northumberland Park will be (operationally) a through platform, with Angel Road the bay. Tottenham Hale will also gain a 3rd platform, for the STAR service. All work is being done with an eye to the Crossrail 2 proposals that would create a 4-track railway from just south of Tottenham Hale to Broxbourne, with 4tph STAR through to Broxbourne and 12-16tph Crossrail 2 as well, both calling all stations all day. Yes, that is a massive increase in service. But there's other threads on Crossrail 2 etc- leave this one for White Hart Lane!

They surely can't shut all the stations in the area, as that would just shift the problem back to Seven Sisters, with even more people walking up the Seven Sisters Road? o_O

The Transport Assessment accompanying the planning application for the new stadium essentially amounts to "business as usual", but with the addition of a shuttle bus from Alexandra Palace (NR) and Wood Green (LU); and a premium one from Tottenham Hale for those with hospitality suite access.

They're also required (as part of the Section 106 agreement) to significantly reduce car usage (which peaked at 60% for Home supporters) to around 23%, primarily by reducing the availability of parking spaces and increasing the area covered by the Event Day CPZs, with an option to further expand the CPZs if necessary.

They did this between August - October back in 2015 - reason why they stopped? Chaos.

Some questions if I may regarding the trains serving the station. I have moved away from the area but in the sixties used to use Theobalds Grove station to travel to Spurs games. In those days trains came from Bishops Stortford and after (the then) Lower Edmonton ran to Liverpool Street stopping only at Seven Sisters (and WHL on match days). They were 8 carriages long. Am I correct in believing (from Wiki) that current sets are 4 carriage Class 315s all stations from Cheshunt to Liverpool Street? Can they be/are they ever doubled up? Can/could all the platforms cope? And what is their total capacity (including standing)? How does this compare to the slam door often compartmented carriages from the sixties?

As an aside (and perhaps I should alert the Guinness Book of Records) I recall one particular return from WHL when our train was even more rammed than usual. I was first into an empty compartment, which quickly filled with two rows of six seated and about 8 standing. Suddenly a large, mixed, boisterous but friendly group pushed into the carriage. Without a word a rather delightful lass sat on my somewhat excited lap, three or four lads climbed onto the luggage racks and others squeezed in. When the train eventually strained away, there was a great deal of amusement about how many had managed to enter - 31! Much to everyone else's relief the last group all exited at Lower Edmonton to catch an Enfield Train.

Back on topic, over at SSC it has been stated that Spurs have confirmed that whilst the new buildings will not be completed by September '18 (likely first league game), the new stairs etc. will be available to be used. The current ones will also be refurbished and retained for match days.

The service is generally run with 2 Class 315s coupled together - every 15 minutes, alternating between Enfield Town and Cheshunt. During the peak, these paths are all used for Enfield trains, with 2 extra Cheshunts slotting into the xx22 and xx52 off Liverpool Street. There are additionally two Hertford East services stopping only at Hackney Downs, Seven Sisters, Edmonton Green and Cheshunt during the peaks (off peak these run via Tottenham Hale).
315s have 318 seats, and I'd estimate can probably stand an extra 200 (conservatively).

The route will get brand new London Overground stock next year anyway, with vastly increased capacity (but significantly fewer seats).

Thank you for your reply sjoh. It led me (back) to the Class 700 thread. I note that the 636 seated/c1050 capacity 315s should be replaced by the 427 seat/1146 total 700s. Perhaps better for the fans but considerably worse for commuters with longer more regular journeys.

One development that should increase throughput and speed up loadings is the planned 3 staircases plus lift to each platform on match days, each with its own platform access point. This should spread out the hordes filling each platform and hopefully improve previous loading issues caused by the entrance to each platform being close to its north end.

We're not getting 700s? 710s!

Anyone know when the station will be completed? Doesn't look like it will be in time for new season?

First proper use of the station will be Spurs v Liverpool ,1230 KO Sat 15th Sept. There are 2 public test events at the stadium as needed to test everything and get people used to the new stadium. Dates for public test events are Mon 27th August (Bank Holiday, first team away at Man Utd.)
and Sat 1st Sept .(First team away at Watford the next day , 2nd Sept) See Spurs site for more info.
I am a season ticket holder from outside London. Its all very well the club showing pictures and helicopter videos about the new stadium, but I would like to see similar aerial pictures of progress on the new station and also Northumberland Park . Only so much can be seen at ground level.
I am not aware of any TFL pics or info on the progress of the 2 stations. Thanks .

Will station shut as it will not be able to cope with 62000 people plus local residents, pubgoers, etc, as it did shut when LO first took over the line?

I've just emailed TfL to ask them what facilities are anticipated to be available on 15 Sept for the Liverpool game. Original plan was for new and old stairs but little else I believe. Having been to WHL in the distant past with 57 000 others I can't believe they'll think to close the station on matchday despite our changing times.

I'll update when I receive a reply.

Very much doubt new stairs will be open by first game let alone 3rd/4th...
