Assume the GWR_help staff replying on X, formerly known as Twitter, are correct, why has no ticket acceptance between arranged for the 2 weeks of engineering works closing the line between Redhill and Guildford? I know they don't always bother for weekend closures but they have arranged acceptance for previous 2 week closures or at least one of them.

GWRHelp as there is bus replacement from redhill to Guildford starting tomorrow, are tickets being accepted on other lines, e.g. Thameslink, Elizabeth line, southern.

Hi there. I'm afraid that nothing has been confirmed unfortunately - MC

Follow up question
When will this information be known? Also what compensation is being offered, as an annual season ticket holder from redhill to reading, an extra 45 minutes each way is excessive.

Follow up reply
As nothing has been confirmed and the work will begin tomorrow, this means that it will just be the bus replacements in place unfortunately. Compensation isn't available unless your journey is delayed. Bus replacements are planned into the timetable - MC

Initally I checked the GWR Web Site but the info on the engineering works was limited. Network Rail Wessex seem to be posting more info than GWR and GWR are sharing this on Twitter. The work is essential, so no problems with the closure itself, just surprised at the lack of ticket acceptance.
