Why upon refurbishment in the 90s, why did stock receive that familiar light blue shade in the cabs?

I am just curious to why the refurbished C69/77, 1972TS, 1967TS and the then new 1983TS had that blue hue for the cab décor? Though the refurbished 1973TS and later builds just had cream décor. I would have thought that the blue evoked a pleasing and relaxing working environment for the driver? Could anyone explain precisely why?

D Stock retained its original blue cab interior upon refurbishment, it was certainly more pleasant than the dull grey of A and C Stock.

I don’t really know but I know the type of plastic in the interiors of the post 92 stock seems or seemed to normally be a white tone when used in the train interiors. Perhaps that’s a reason.

I remember posting about why e400 models, mmc and newer, always seemed to have grey plastic panels in their London buses and the answer was that grey panels was the cheapest interior spec to get. So maybe having coloured cab walls would be expensive with the newer stock regarding the materials used.

Is it the same blue that was on the inside of the 96 Jubilee trains?
No it seems lighter and less green

Thanks. (And there goes my theory of why they decided to pick such a horrendous colour for the original 96 stock interiors...)
I think at that time that colour scheme was in. Arriva had similar colours on buses I think. I actually liked it, but with the original moquette and armrest colours as it looked different a bit.
