I’m fairly certain this is a topic of concern for most employees, much like universal staff travel, amongst other things like seniority and years of service for drivers…

It is certainly something you could raise to reps on a local level, and should the opportunity arise, propose a motion for pursuit at a higher level.

That will be a decision decided between ASLEF and GBR. I don’t think anyone knows just yet how it will pan out whether it be on a national or regional level.

Is it likely that transfers will be possible between previously different companies?
It is surely going to depend on how long it takes before they are actually one company, and how harmonisation of contract terms proceeds.

A long long way off anything other than changing the big boss to DfT formally. Last ToC won't even be nationalised before 2029 if everything goes smoothly for the first few ToCs. If current DfT management is to be the benchmark, things are likely to get far worse and cost more long before a national contract and T&Cs are harmonised.

As others have noted, this can only speculative as nobody knows these answers yet. If there is interest in continuing the conversation, please consider posting a new thread in the Speculative Discussions area of the forum. :)
