I am going to be travelling to London later this week - departing sometime after 10am and returning around 6.30 pm.

Due to my plans I would like to be able to travel to/from either Windsor station to allow me to get to Paddington, Waterloo or Victoria and travel round London when I arrive

National Rail enquiries only allows me to search for one origin/return station.

Could anyone advise whether an Any Permitted ticket from one Windsor station is inter available to the other (even if only one station can be used at the other)?

If not, what is my best course of action.

Thanks in advance as always.

Big warning: I haven't actually checked this! Check in the routeing guide or NRE before heeding my advice here!

As far as I know, they're not interavailable, but a ticket from Datchet to London is valid via Windsor. Combine this with a single between Datchet and Windsor & Eton Riverside so you aren't using the outbound coupon again after you've used the return..

manicmartin is correct - tickets are to named stations rather than "Windsor Stations", and ATOC do not allow for a journey to start with a walk. Obviously not at all in passengers favour, but there you go.

The solution is to buy from a nearby station as above. A Travelcard from Slough would be another option at £13.30 (valid to Feltham in Z6 then unlimited within the Zones) - combine with an Off Peak Day Single/Return (£2.40/2.50) to bridge Slough-Windsor as appropriate.

Easements seem to forbid this:

ATOC said:
700084 Customers travelling from Windsor & Eton Central to or via London Terminals may not travel via Windsor & Eton Riverside. This easement applies in both directions.

700085 Customers travelling from Datchet to or via London Waterloo may not travel via Windsor & Eton Riverside or Windsor & Eton Central. This easement applies in both directions.

Taken literally, the second of those "easements" is only about travel to or via Waterloo (and the first taken literally does not include journeys "via" Windsor). This means that NRE and e.g. East Coast will offer itineraries from Datchet to London Paddington that go via Windsor (offpeak for £9.90 single or £13.90 return).

If you try National Rail enquiries for Slough to Feltham, it will route you walking between the two Windsor stations and also offer a Slough to Zones 1-6 Travelcard for £ 13.30

The Riverside Travelcard is priced at £ 16.20 and the Central Travelcard at £ 14.50

It's like St Albans, other one of those zonal anomalies.

Not really a zonal anomaly it's down to Slough and Windsor & eton Central being first great western and Windsor and Eton riverside being south west trains .

Loads more issues with south west trains and the pricing policies it has .
