I am looking to make a trip to Aberdeen on 15th Feb, returning 17th Feb

So far I have found the following options:

* Rail Advances £52 each way, dep 0636 arr 1303 Fri 15th, return journey 1147 arr 1832 Sun 17th total £104
* Flybe BHX - Aberdeen totals £100.27
* National Express £73.50 return, depart 0500 arrive 1735 or 1135 arrive 2120, return 1120 arrive 2340.
* Megabus £34 each way departs 0235 arr 1135 Fri 15th, return journey 1915 arr 0400 Monday morning (this is really too late) total £68

Ideally I am looking to get the train fare down to roughly the cost of the megabus fare if possible. Last time I did this trip I paid £22 each way on Megabus but had to write the Monday off when I got back so I don't want to do overnight on the Megabus if I can avoid it.

Willing to look at going to London and getting a bargain berth on the sleeper up on night of Thu 14th and the same back Sunday night provided I can get back to Birmingham by 10:00.

As always, any help appreciated, a combination of the above is possible or if anyone can advise any good places to split advance tickets, that would be great.

Also worth pointing out that Aberdeen airport is nearer Dyce, so means a bit of travel into town after getting off the plane, thus extra cost.
