Weren't these vacancies subject to DfT funding (something to do with getting the Edinboro' - Glasgow route from East Coast)?
All the recent media stories about the Glasgows (and indeed ECML Co's own announcement about the Eureka TT) suggest that XC will now be needing a few more drivers.
(I've been wondering if the TUPE rules should ensure some ECML Glasgow depot drivers get transferred to XC? I assume this doesn't necessarily apply to Leeds, because existing ECML services are also being increased so you wouldn't expect any surplus EC drivers there.)
As far as i know, there aren't any EC drivers at central.
While I'm sure there are Glasgow Central based guards for EC, if I'm not mistaken Edinburgh based drivers for EC do the Glasgow Central services?

Yes, there are guards and catering staff at Central, though not for much longer it would seem! Yes, Waverley and I think Newcastle have drivers depots, but I do not profess to be an expert of course.![]()
