I’m currently on 1S37 and to my surprise, we went straight through Wakefield Westgate without stopping.
This, of course, is now booked to run non-stop through, however what’s the reason for these changes? Is it to reduce over crowding by encouraging pax to use local services to Leeds and Sheffield, to change there for onward connections?
I had a look at Cross Country departures from Wakefield for the entire day, and it seems there’s some gaps of up to 3 hours for Southbound XC services from here.
