I wouldn't rule a 12 car move out, Northern need the 4 car 331s in the North West ASAP, and if putting 107 in the middle of a 12 car move is the easiest/only way of moving it then a 12 car move may happen.

Wouldn't tomorrow 8/12 be the best for it since northern are on strike?
12 car run tomorrow then a 8 car run on Saturday then that's all the 331/1s at Allerton.

Looks like tomorrow's swaps are to/from Neville Hill via Huddersfield

Well it helps to not have trains in the way :) (Both TPE and Northern running no trains)
I'm happy to see they're planned at all, guess no Northern ASLEF members are needed for this (e.g. depot staff)

Possibly more than 1 unit, I think more than 1 unit at Skipton would be problematic because it would require shunting out of the sidings and beyond the signal on platform 3, whereas from Neville Hill can be any length

From what I'm aware, there's 3 units sat at Neville Hill, 106, 108 and 112 and 2 sat at Skipton as of tonight which are 101 and 107.

This is according to RTT and when they were last in service.

Think Bingley was getting done as well, not much of a gap though up to the tunnel.
Work has been ongoing at Bingley for a number of weeks. Still not close to being finished.

Meanwhile, 2H21 is still dropping 3-car sets. Was rammed out of Shipley yesterday morning.

Yeah the 3 cars have been showing up on the busy peaks already. I noticed for example on Wednesday that the 17:19 Leeds-Skipton was a 3 car, followed by the cancellation of the 17:42. Given the time of year services in the evenings can and do get very busy, and so any 3 car workings are going to put more strain on an already fractured service. And people are already noticing the shorter units, I've heard several comments along the lines of "they're making the trains smaller". I know the idea is to diagram the 331/0s away from the busy services until 6 cars can be run, but this week proves that if it can possibly happen it probably will, especially at Northern.

As has been mentioned previously, the dedicated 331/0 diagrams don't come into force until the timetable change. Things will improve thereafter.

Just taking a cursory glance at the Dec 23 timetables via RTT, there still seems to be plenty of interworking across the three triangle lines. So it seems that it will still be possible for 3 car units to land on peak services if things don't go exactly to plan.

There were CAF people at Skipton yesterday looking at 107, so could potentially be that.

Platform 2 at Skipton has come up, so looks like its 101 going down to Leeds.

Not run as yet 10.45. Pathed for 100mph so with northern drivers on strike I wonder whos going to drive it.
K
I thought these runs were all being loco dragged by a different company (ROG?) so surely the strike (Assuming the trains are in the right place on depot) shouldn't impact the service.

Unrelated but does anyone know what is a good route for going on a Class 333 at fast speeds? Think there are some sections between Leeds and Skipton possibly?

Best run will probably be on a Leeds-Skipton (or return) between Leeds and Shipley on a train that doesn't stop at Apperley or Kirkstall.

The max for the routes they currently work is 90mph but the best section for that is on a non stop service between Leeds & Shipley.

Once they’re on the Donny line there is an outside chance they could hit 100mph for a short stretch between Sandal & Agbrigg and Fitzwilliam.

005 has arrived at Neville Hill this morning.

A unit is set to come down to Leeds this morning from Broughton Road according to RTT. I don't know if it's 101 or 107.
That was 107.
108 and 112 are in position ready to leave.
