The work they are doing is an intermediate activity to re-open the subway between the two platforms. The subway was closed when the work started and remained closed when things stopped for the re-design. The diversionary route between the 2 platforms is about 500 metres.
On iOS the station name does appear. The version history in the app says that, for version 9.6.4 released a month ago, support is added for new stations, one of which is Headbolt Lane.
