Go Ahead have Scanias in several of their fleets too (albeit not London)!

    Concessionary pass remuneration

Tendered services are either gross cost (the operator receives a fixed price and all revenue goes to the local authority) or net cost (where the operator bids based on passenger fares, concessions etc going to them). Some authorities will only offer one or the other, some will let operators bid...

    London Buses Discussion

So was Tower Transit! However, the only common thread is country of (full or part) ownership. The management is completely different so no doubt behaviours will be different!

East Yorkshire Motor Services, now part of Go-Ahead

Obviously the management and supervisors didn’t have time to sit in their armchairs studying bustimes for hours on end…..

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

i very much doubt the drivers are being ‘exposed to asbestos’ or the place would have been subject to major works or demolished by now. It is possible there is asbestos in the structure - there is in many buildings - but if managed and not disturbed it’s not a risk.

First West Yorkshire & York discussion

its 20% spare on M-F and more on Saturday. In general terms that is above the ‘norm’ and should be ample for a fleet of this size at a single site.

    Stagecoach Group (Group-wide matters)

As operating costs rise, I guess there are fewer and fewer routes where the smallest E200s can be commercially viable. Many tenders will of course continue to specify small buses, but they aren’t a huge proportion of the total fleet for Stagecoach, and unless there are age restriction, older...

    Labour's Plan for buses

But the £2 fare doesn’t ‘fund’ buses - it merely pays for passengers to have lower fares.

    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

No, no classics were built as Euro VI. Actually - in my mind I have a recollection some were built for TfL services, who wanted Euro VI sooner - but I stand to be corrected! There was a cut off but I can’t remember what it was. Clearly not 2013 for buses though! But all slightly off topic -...

    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

it’s not that simple. The ‘Classic’ E200 was produced as Euro V (5) from about 2010 and continued until about 2017 ( I think there were even a few registered with 18 plates). The E200 MMC was Euro VI (6) from new, and started production in about 2016. To complicate matters, some Euro 5 E200s...

Central Connect (Vectare) withdraw tenders with no notice

That is my guess. I suspect the proposed solution used more resources, with a new higher price. But ECC would say of course that it would be unfair on other bidders to pay more money mid-term. The odd thing is that the contracts were due to finish at the end of July in any event. So the company...
