    Scotrail Guards Dispute

Yeah seems late, but I guess they are trying to work out what they can cover. Scotrail's Journey Planner and Realtime Trains shows a reductions to the service particularly early mornings before 8am and evenings post 6pm on East Kilbride (30 min service) and Kilmarnock (hourly stopper). Nothing...

    Eurovision 2024 discussion.

I thought the UK song was meh. Nothing special and didn't really rate it. I can see how the juries liked some elements, but if it was another nation I wouldn't have phoned in to vote for it. BBC article that someone linked is fair - good artist but just not the right mix and I could see why...

    Scotrail Guards Dispute

Seems a strange one - don't understand why it isn't just following other routes under the Strathclyde Manning Agreement which when the Cl156s went, the electric trains were introduced with ticket examiners. To be honest, on the East Kilbride and Barrhead lines, the frequent stops makes selling...

    Scotrail Guards Dispute

My understanding is that it operates as Driver Open, Conductor Close (DOCC)

SNP ends power sharing with the Scottish Greens - Humza Yousaf resigns as SNP leader

Swinney is such a meh candidate and shows the lack of talent in the SNP at Holyrood. The only advantage is other parties are similarly lacking that big personality and talented politician.

Trivia: Level crossings with no pedestrian access while they're down

Stevenston in Ayrshire is like this. The train from Glasgow arrives 3 to 4 minutes before the train to Glasgow and the barriers typically remain down. Locals have asked for the footbridge to be reinstalled but that is a big undertaking.

SNP ends power sharing with the Scottish Greens - Humza Yousaf resigns as SNP leader

I believe Alba voted against the government. Only the SNP and Greens backed the government.

    Ayrshire and Inverclyde and Back

I'm planning to do a trip from Glasgow to Ardrossan and back from Wemyss Bay to Glasgow. Previously the SPT Daytripper ticket was best option here, but with that scrapped is no way of doing this, by rail, other than buying single fares? I think buying a return Glasgow Central to Ardrossan and a...

    Formula 1

The Irvine pitstop was unbelievable, but that race in 1999 is a classic. Mixed conditions, contenders spinning, crashing, retiring and Stewart winning their first GP - even Minardi got a point to outscore BAR. Netflix would kill for that! Coulthard had real chance at that title too- if he...

SNP ends power sharing with the Scottish Greens - Humza Yousaf resigns as SNP leader

I can't see that working - I doubt an English voter cares and I suspect some would say good, get going! However politically aligned, I can't see SNP / Labour administration working - voters on each side would be just unhappy.

SNP ends power sharing with the Scottish Greens - Humza Yousaf resigns as SNP leader

An election is a bit of a gamble for all in my view. The SNP will lose seats, but I don't think Labour can be assured of doing enough to win. Tories will be down based on national trends and others probably much of a muchness. Not sure how Labour finds a viable coalition to govern too - a Labour...

    Formula 1

Great photos. The 1999 season was terrific. 4 genuinely fast teams who could win races - McLaren, Ferrari, Jordan and Stewart. 4 drivers up for the title. Unreliability still a lottery.

SNP ends power sharing with the Scottish Greens - Humza Yousaf resigns as SNP leader

BBC also reporting that. I guess he couldn't get the Greens onside and the notion of letting Alex Salmond's party have some control wasn't palatable.

SNP ends power sharing with the Scottish Greens - Humza Yousaf resigns as SNP leader

I think he'll try to get the Greens onside and frame them as 'voting with Tories and unionists to bring down an independence government' Don't know if it will work- Alba probably see this as their big moment to get influence.

SNP ends power sharing with the Scottish Greens - Humza Yousaf resigns as SNP leader

It's simple in how you vote, but it has significant shortcomings which lead to complexity in use.
