Are we seriously suggesting that people from Chingford and Walthamstow want their services to London to be diverted via Canning Town, Canary Wharf and Canada Water?
The possible link at Stratford also sounds particularly interesting.
I’ve no idea as to why but it does seem like TB we’re experimenting a bit with some of their early E200 MMC orders with different engine sizes and different gearboxes
Essentially, what I was thinking was that this ‘new’ sound on DC was due to regenerative braking on DC, something the 710s may not get chance to do on their DC LO routes which are shared with LUL (whether or not this actually makes a difference - I have no idea )
I’d argue HS1 does with the Class 395 services. Yes, they’re 140mph but the High Speed services on the line are 186mph.
It also doesn’t really make sense to purposely plan to have lower speed services on high speed lines, because, as you say, it eats capacity. As for HS2, where would the non...
I think it’s easy for us on a forum to look at a company’s final decision (I.e. running from Wallyford to Dundee) and say “that’s daft, there must be better options than that. Why didn’t they consider these?” when we actually have no idea what the company has looked into and considered before...
Whilst I don’t know for sure, I dont imagine that effectively having a couple of 68s idling all day would use minimal fuel. Have you heard how much racket they make?

Of course, I’m not an expert, but it doesn’t seem like they happen too often, and...
The Robin Hood Line opened in the late 1990s. The new stations being Bulwell, Hucknall, Newstead, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Sutton Parkway, Mansfield, Mansfield Woodhouse, Shirebrook, Langwith-Whaley Thornes, Creswell and Whitwell.
No that was a design choice by Wright quite a few years ago.
If you look at the new Enviro 100/200/400 EVs you’ll see their front end looks different to the other ADL products, and has some aspects in common with the Wrightbus GB Kite or whatever it is called. This is as a result of the new TfL...
I think the point is that saying Southeastern have more stock than Southern on pure numbers doesn’t mean Southeastern have less need for more stock. To try and estimate that, you’d want average daily fleet utilisation or something. Or number of daily short forms/cancellations due to lack of stock.
