    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

Car park 6 is one of, if not the largest car park on the site. Last time I went people were queuing to get in, even though there was no queue for car park 7. It is quite chaotic as it is now, and that's before a large portion of parking has been removed. For those not familiar with it, the...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the new car park is being built on the current staff car park? There should really be a park and ride in this area to serve both hospital and the city centre, especially as there are good bus lanes from here towards the city unlike any other approaches...

Not sure, there are at least two painted but had no MOT at end of last week. They could be in process of being refurbished inside of course. Think all the work is being done at Langley Mill, and I guess keeping the working fleet on the road takes priority.

I guess this is their back up plan after not getting any of the zebra 2 funding, which would have also required much more of an investment at a guess. In the short term they still seem quite short of available vehicles. Kinch and Trent Barton Derby/Langley Mill cancel several services each...

217 now back at Nottingham. This was just on loan to kinchbus on Saturday. 499 appears to be based at Langley Mill now. There are no interdeck coaches at Langley Mill at the moment.

Even with the reduced Easter service on the sprint service (unibus), there are still cancellation from Kinch today. Trent have 2 buses missing on Ilkeston flyer and 2 missing on h1

And of course, after telling people their buses are cancelled because of driver shortage for over 2 years why wouldn't they believe it! Become the norm. acceptable.

Seems there is no risk of a public enquiry, they're not interested. It seems lack of buses is a valid excuse not to operate the services you have registered, like it or lump it. Do bus operators still get some form of funding for the number of services registered? Maybe this would be effected...

    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

True, they seem busy whenever I see them. Remember they operate on mainly key trunk routes now, having cut out most of the less profitable routes over the years. Higher costs, £2 fare, fewer pass holders and fewer people buying period tickets may see lower profits now? Seems Langley Mill, Derby...

    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

The video seems to imply the cyclist is in the wrong. Hard to tell from the angle but looks as though they cut in front of the van straight into bus drivers blind spot. Certainly a dangerous spot to put yourself in regardless. Appears to be a shortage of buses on red arrow again today, aswell...

    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

To be fair, I don't think they were aware of the bike, and can see why, as wouldn't expect it to just appear there. The red light is careless, but if for whatever reason they noticed red light too late, stopping very harshly could have been more dangerous. I'm sure there are numerous videos...

Cancellations on Kinch 11, 5 and skylink this morning, as there are most days. With them needing 4 extra buses on skylink in little over a month's time, what will change? Bear in mind full service has been rare for years due to various issues. Question is, should frequency increases...

Trent Barton: what happened to ‘the really good bus company’?

Lots of services now get missed due to vehicle issues. Buses bunch, and little seems to be done to even out departures. Ilkeston flyers often run in pairs, and witnessed 3 indigos following each other to Derby this week (every 20). Kinch upped the frequency on many of their services on...

    Hulley's of Baslow

Well someone sat down and came up with the route and timetable, updated timetable cases on route, got a bus repainted, and got lots of leaflets printed, that were then worthless from day 1! I know bsip money wasn't awarded to breezer, but perhaps the service had to be hourly to have a chance of...

    Hulley's of Baslow

It is a shame that the breezer failed, but no matter how much hard work was put in to the marketing and behind the scenes it would never work with that timetable - alot of resources must have been wasted. Simple as that. Whether or not it was made hourly to be eligible for the BSIP money makes...

They seem short of buses before this happened. Scania 669 is being repaired, so should be back. Guess the former threes Versas will start appearing too. Elderly Solo 462 appears to be back in use at Sutton.

    Hulley's of Baslow

You really can't blame Hulleys. The bus just didn't go fast enough, any experienced operator starting a route on their doorstep could make such a catastrophic mistake. The council don't help either, bendy roads, trees in the way, and that's before you get to the passengers taking too long...

The service will still operate on Saturdays to the same times, just an error on timetable. Trent indigo E200 207 caught fire in Beeston earlier this afternoon. Thankfully no injuries. I wonder how quickly it will go to Looms scrapyard.

Diamond finish on the 9/9a in Derby in October. Have heard this will be run by Derbyshire community transport. The free service around Spondon that they (DCT) operate is expected to finish at the same time. Remains to be seen if two routes will be somewhat merged.
