Providing the person recorded them himself/herself and is not using the original files stored on the train's memory then he/she is on pretty good ground.

Not so, remember the BVE cross-city route ran in to this problem with recording the station announcements

Strictly speaking the copyright remains with the company who manufactured the system and/or the voice-over artist who provided the voice samples.

On the whole, I wouldn't expect them to get angry unless you're trying to profit from their work. I know there's a few Royalty Free Sound websites out there selling recordings of station announcements and I'm willing to bet they haven't sought permission. The BVE Cross-City issue was resolved after a copyright notice was included within the readme, so as long as you make clear who the clips are copyrighted (i.e. Ketech Ditra or Atos Origin) to then you'll be fine.

Anyway, I've been watching the space for some time, no recordings showing yet!

Ive been told by Freesound that I have to wait for the Moderator to approve of them.

Anyway, if the announcements do decide to show up, here's a list of locations:

Proper announcements:
Southampton Central, Taunton.

Silver ticking boxes (the ones that play the full announcement instead of the departure summary on normal help points):
Keynsham, Filton Abbey Wood, Stonehouse.

Normal Help Points:
St James Park, Caldicot, Keynsham.

Also includes a recording of me onboard a 444 at Brokcenhurst

Thanks,
Jim.

What the hell, have they replaced Ruth on the help points with Sarah?

Okay I'll take a look in a couple of days time; it's annoying that things take such a long time to get approved on Freesound. Do they manually check each file?!
