From the Rail Picture Library blog

On Saturday 20th October, as part of Bewdley Festival, Chiltern Railways will operate a special service from Bewdley to London Marylebone.

Usually the train would start at Kidderminster, but on this date will commence its journey at Bewdley at 08.45 , arriving into London at 11.44 .

The return journey departs London at 18.30 and arrives back in Bewdley at 21.10.

This will be the first train to use the newly installed facing crossover at Kidderminster to gain access to the SVR.

Anyone know what stock will be used?

Probably another 168 as they seem to be most common.

Would make more sense to run it the other way surely to ferry people to the festival, not from it.

That's what i was wondering, Unless i wonder if they bring a 165 to the line again - Didnt a 165 run a few services along the route last year, or was this to do with another event?

More information:

The ticket price will be £27.50 return.

Tickets are bookable via Chiltern’s Business Travel office by calling 01494 420177 between 09:45 – 16:00 (Monday-Friday)

It should be formed of a class 168.

Now here's a thought.

Maybe they could extend one of the class 67 hauled services to & from Bewdley / Bridgnorth at a future diesel gala. Or the Shakespeare Express whenever there is a kettle gala.

If an extension of the existing 0903 Kidderminster - Marylebone then it will have to be a 168 (as timetabled) as this is timed at 100mph for much of the way.
Chiltern 165s cant do these runs as they have a top of 75mph.
