I was wondering what people thought were the most "doctored" flow pricings?
Where prices are kept artificially high/low compared to prices to nearby locations, or where the price seems very high/low for the geographical distance along that route.

For instance, I've read on this forum that the Severn Beach line has extremely good value pricing along the route, kept aritificially low by the local authority.

Virgin-priced SVRs from London to Manchester and Liverpool are always priced the same (currently £74.20) despite any variations in distance, level of service and demand (though they are valid via each other).

First Class Anytime fares are very "flat" on the northern parts of both routes to London, usually costing only a few pounds more to go an extra 100 or so miles!

Any other interesting ones? :)

London Midland only fares to Euston. They are the same from all stations on the main lines between Rugby & Stafford and also as far an Barnt Green & Redditch, Wootton Wawen, Lapworth and all stations between Birmingham & Lichfield & Rugeley

Chilternrailways super off peaks are not just good value, they also have super availability northbound as the morning peak restriction is only southbound. So they represent unbeatable value northbound in the morning peak to Birmingham, if you can cope with the longer journey time compared to Virgin.
