Eurostar tickets to Moutiers

Hi all, does anyone know when Eurostar are likely to release tickets for St. Pancras to Moutiers for the ski-train overnight on Fri 28th December? Return will be a week later on 5th January.

Hoping to persuade friends to take the train, but can't find fares at the moment!

A non-flexible return starts at £149. If cost is important to you, you could consider buying a Eurostar non-flexible return to Paris (from £69 or 75€) and two singles on a TGV to the French Alps (from 25€ I think - TGV Europe's booking engine isn't working right now so I can't check).

Thanks a million for your response, but that link is only referring to the service that has run this winter just ended. I guess I'll just have to wait for a while and keep checking into the Eurostar site!

The suggestion of a split in Paris is an interesting one - possibly means not having to travel overnight - would rather travel in the daytime for the view.

The train option is even more attractive when you consider that most of the ski companies charge £50+ for the transfers to and from Geneva airport. I know it could easily be done by rail with a change at Chambery, but I'll have a hard job selling that plan to the rest of my party!

Sorry – I didn’t notice that that was last year’s ski train site (but I don’t imagine that the times and fares will change that much). I imagine that details for this year will be released in a month or two’s time (6 months or so before the ski train starts running) but someone who works for Eurostar could probably give you better advice. There is a daytime as well as a night ski train each week. I have checked www.voyages-sncf.com and Paris to the French Alps does start at 25€ each way (Prem’s fare – non-refundable, non-exchangeable, booked train only). The advantages of travelling via Paris would be a greater journey of journey opportunities and possibly saving £50 or so on a return journey. The disadvantage would be having to cross Paris (taking RER line D from Paris Gare du Nord to Paris Gare de Lyon).

From memory there is a saturday daytime ski train, and maybe also a friday overnight. All the eurostar ski trains miss out Paris completely. E* ski train can get you easily to most of the large French resorts with a short bus connection at the end. notable exception being Chamonix, which is a bit more of a faff to get to by train.
