Hey

Has anyone thought of, or are creating a cabview for one
of FGW's Refreshed HST sets? Or a sound set for one of them.

Done that...A while ago I tried running BVE4 and the HST on the NWM route with no sound on. Got the perfect MTU effect!

Yeah I know I think everyone prefers the Valenta :D:D
But will probably all be replaced quite soon.

Although I don't think Midland Mainline have made any effort
to change their HST's engines....have they?

There's no plans as yet AFAIK with MML's 'Lone Rangers', but they do have most of the Paxman 12VP185-engined power cars, with FGW having the other 4 of them (168/169/170/191). They are slightly less powerful than the normal Paxman Valenta 12RP200L-engined power cars, & slightly different engine note.

FGW only have TWO VP185s left in service (168 and 169 having been MTU'd ages ago). 170 and 191 are the sole surviving VP185s on GW, and I daresay that won't last much longer either.

Also, don't forget that Grand Central have no intentions to MTU their Valenta-equipped 43s any time soon either.

Midland Mainline have a fair few Valentas still around with no intentions known to change that happy situation (054 and 058 still running around with plenty of thrash!), although the potentially different owners of the East Midlands (or whatever it is called today) could have very different ideas.

Midland Mainline probabaly won't change their HST's power cars into MTU's
They've already got those awful isit 'Pioneer or Meridians' (can't remember which one).
They'll just get some of the future class 223 or something looking like that.

Meridians.

And inside info (not sure if it's a very reliable source) is that MML are looking into MTUs

I've tidied the topic a bit, and all discussion about Voyagers, Meridians and Pioneers is located here.
