You can dream.
Rumour is all it is...
Even you havd on your website the pigs werent going to be withdrawn
hentis rail said:The Class 442's are staying on the Waterloo - Weymouth route some people have remarked that these are being withdrawn.... YEAH RIGHT!!!!
To be honest it's guess work and rumours, anyone can guess and between us someone will get it right.I heard 47818 was to be dragged into service on these runs...816 was also heard to be knocking back into shape and dragged down...
However I can't reveal my sources, but they promise me this is going to happen...
I think its pretty certain it will be loco hauled as the contract between EWS and fGW has been signed....Certainly an interesting thread and whats more interesting is that nobody knows thats going on and time is running out, although we all would like loco hauled it's looking more doubtfull everyday.
Really. :roll:It does sound like things are going well for this one now though.
As I undestand it fGW have signed a contract to provide loco hauled trains from Bristol to Weymouth on summer saturdays simular to the footexs EWS ran for fGW the other weekend from Bristol to Cardiff using RT Mk2s with 67s so unless 67s are not cleared to Weymouth I guess we can expect to see the same this time...Really.
What we know so far.
EWS sign a contract to supply and crew? locos for FGW but what route?
What we don't know.
Where are the coaches coming from?
What traction?
What services?
For how long?
When does it start?
Why know one knows (not even staff it seems)?
67s have run on the Weymouth route a few times over the last few years so that shouldn't be a problem. As I undestand it fGW have signed a contract to provide loco hauled trains from Bristol to Weymouth on summer saturdays simular to the footexs EWS ran for fGW the other weekend from Bristol to Cardiff using RT Mk2s with 67s so unless 67s are not cleared to Weymouth I guess we can expect to see the same this time...
As 67s are RA 8 and looking at
http://www.networkrail.co.uk/browse documents/businessplan2007/pdf/route 4 wessex routes.pdf Westbury-Dorchester is RA1-6 so unless 67s are given an expection such as on the WHL it will have to be 37s...
ones will do if they actually run.
100% class 67s on 08:34 SO BRI-WEY and 17:49
WEY-BRI during Jul & Aug.
You do? hock:
Yer i do lol, id rather play trains at cockcrow than bash 67s!
67s arnt THAT bad. Still better than units tbh.
I don't know about that, I'd sooner have a 442 over a 67 + Mk1s.
Rather have the Yinga, purely because I've never done LHCS out of Weymouth.
