With the imminent arrival of the first of colas' class 70s being delivered in the next few days to Liverpool docks (exc 70099/70801) I just have a few questions that I would like help with:
- Is there any certain date that they are due into Liverpool? I heard they are onboard ACLs atlantic concert as I write this.
-When they arrive at Liverpool will they be transported by road (and if so where to) or will they be taken by rail (and if so what by and where to)?

Thanks in Advance

Daniel

Right thanks for that, now to work out if theyre going by rail or road.
Moving out by rail (hauled by another Colas loco).

No timings 'in the system' yet, but you can be sure that details will
be posted on every gen group under the sun when they are!!

I suspect the colas staff will have everything ready for when the ship arrives.

Lets hope they dont drop any of these loco's

Once docked any idea where they'll be heading?

I would imagine they will be dragged to Cardiff Canton (Pullman Rail/Colas) since that's where 70099/70801 has been "based" since Colas took it over, or alternatively they could be moved to the Colas Depot at Rugby.

I think the ship thy're on is a ro-ro / container ship so that shouldnt happen!

Thanks for the help everyone, much appreciated, now just to wait for the times..

The nearest Tescos actually isnt far away from seaforth at all, must only be a mile or so away :D

First Colas 70s are now sitting dockside in Liverpool Docks, before lifting of their trailers and onward movement over the next coming days down to Colas Rail's Rugby Depot for commissioning.

Damn the Colas 56's won't have much of a future with these on their way into service!

At least they're not Sheds.

I think they still will - Colas want to expand their operations and win more contracts. Coupled with the general power shortage in the country i think they will still have work

There will be plenty of work for everything.
Also what's the rush getting photos, there will be plenty of opportunity.
