RailMiles is now out - sign up at https://my.railmiles.me

HA25322: On the iPhone app - no, not at the moment. I need to talk to my iOS developer :). At the moment it'll be the website or SMS, yes.

Backup/restore will be in the next few weeks!

Hi,

I believe you need to register for the new version and then migrate your old content across.

Where's my traction list and stuff.
I can't find anything haha

There doesn't seem to be a traction list at the moment - which was probably the most useful bit in my eyes! Replaced with gimmicks like setting up leagues to beat your friends.

I much preferred the old layout. You could scroll down and see all your journeys and the details on one page. This seems much too fussy.
Anyway I am xcdrichard on there

Mine looks nothing like that. And I can't see anyway of changing the layout

You seem to have fallen into the same trap as me, there are two seperate pages the railmiles.me and the railmiles sit you need to type your domain name into your web browser.

Signed up yesterday, and started the long process of inputting all my journeys into the system. This could take a while...

I'm "alexf380" if anyone fancies a friendship. :)

Getting used to the new layout now. Got to admit, I rather like it. :)

For those struggling to find their journeys in a list, the top left hand side of the screen (or in the menu on a mobile) has a button labelled 'journeys'. Click that, and it should do the trick - or it does for me, anyway :D

I'm dannywith, if anyone fancies following. Just got to do a bit more travelling now :D

It's not finding the list that's the problem - it's once you found it the fact it doesn't do anything now!

For those who have only just signed up and know no different, on the old version of the journey list most of the important info was clickable (date, operator, headcode, traction) so you could easily use the information and quickly sort it. There was also a traction list, which listed all the classes and then each class member with all journeys on each loco/unit etc. I found that the most useful part of the old railmiles and without it the new version is little more than a fancy looking spreadsheet really. Yes you can do individual searches but if you need to know something in a hurry you don't want to be typing loads of numbers into a search box.

Hopefully the traction list will make a return, and soon.

I believe I should be on RM as Techniquest still, if any fellow forum members wish to add me as a friend or whatever on there. I will aim to add people by the weekend, as I yave quite a few journeys to add already from this week, and I have 4 more days of bashing to go this week!

Had SMS problems today? I sent two journeys by SMS. Neither of them showed up on my railmiles account. No SMS reply either to state that the text I sent had been received.
So trying to input the journey manually and it doesn't want to play ball on Safari on the Iphone so tried it on Google Chrome on the PC and it found it straight away and I was very impressed with how quick it was. Found the actually times etc which I suspect you get from Railtimes?

Yes there has been an issue with SMS this evening, am in discussions with my supplier.

Safari on the iPhone shouldn't be causing a problem, as I've tested it thoroughly on there. If you want to report an issue though please email [email protected]

Have some of the mileage calculations changed?
Birmingham - Bournemouth via Coventry and Reading used to be 174.19 but it's now 175.15

As an update. Sent SMS this morning at 06.50. Took 5 hours to come through. In the interim as I thought it was not going to come through I tried the Safari again and it worked a treat. May have been connectional issues on 3G last night?
