1-1 is a good result for Leicester even with dodgy decisions going against them (what's new at Old Trafford?)

Come on Chelsea (never thought I'd say that )

Possibly the biggest went for them. Very close, but I think it was a penalty.

The foul looked outside the box to me and was no worse than Mahrez getting obstructed in the first half although IMO both were 50/50 challenges.

Fellaini and Rooney both should have received marching orders: the former for that elbow and the latter for a second bookable offence when he pulled back King(?).

I'm just waiting for Paul to tell me I'm wrong

was it not Mahrez, Rooney tugged?

ll:

I've often criticized Fellaini in both conduct and skill, but how do you want him to react when he is having his hair pulled by Huth? You can't look at the reaction without also mentioning the provocation...

Fellani is one horrible player, every game he's tripping, pulling people back, elbowing like today then puts his hands up saying "what me ? never ref"

Horrible player who fits well in that team.

And another post with no mention of Huth.

Yes, elbowing is unacceptable. Is hair yanking fine?

Huth did pull his hair that's true but my point is Fellani is a serial offender and what goes around comes around, he deserves nothing but contempt.

He was the same at Everton, he just can't stop it he's incapable of reform.

Good to see Altyscum relegated back to where they belong! :):D:)

Bah!

It's been a disappointing season, with some bad luck with injuries, but far more than that, some incompetence from the management in not bringing new faces in as soon as it became apparent that we had an injury crisis.

As for Braintree, I completely fail to see how on earth they'll be able to cope with League 2 teams bringing fans to them - the 1803 in for Saturday's game put it not too far from its capacity.

Just because Braintree (and Dover Athletic) get lower attendances, it doesn't mean they can't compete in League 2.

There are many who thought we and Braintree would have been relegated this season.

(I'm sure Braintree's ground capacity is well over 1803, or they wouldn't be considered for the Football League)

The capacity of Cressing Road is about 4,500. However, only about 600 of that capacity is seated.

Up and down across division.

  • Scottish Premiership - Celtic beat Heart 3-1 and will clinch Scottish title for five times if they beat or draw against Aberdeen next Sunday.

If Dundee Utd fail to win away across the road at local rivals Dundee tonight, they will be relegated to The Championship next season.

Not a real scenario, but imagine this:

-It's the last day of the Scottish season
-Both Dundee and Dundee Utd can go down
-They are the only two teams that can be relegated
-Dundee Utd are playing Dundee at home (Tannadice)
-A win will relegate Dundee
-A loss will relegate Dundee Utd
-A draw will relegate Dundee Utd on goal difference (by 1 goal)

Just imagine it...

Having FC United and Salford City in our division (Conference North) next season is something I am relishing with about the same level of enthusiasm as a poke in the eye with a rusty spoon. No doubt the BBC will be fawning over the latter all season. The only good point I can see is that it'll be an interesting away day, providing they don't do as FC United do and provide such paltry away allocations that you can't get a ticket for love nor money.

With Altrincham, Kidderminster and Halifax coming down and Darlington and Salford coming up I'm hopeful the division will actually be 'northern' next year. Travelling to the likes of Lowestoft and Brackley when in what is supposed to be a regionalised northern league is just bizarre. Thankfully the former were relegated, and when the leagues are redrawn the latter should disappear into the Conference South as well.

Championship matches

Brighton 1-1 Derby
Burnley 1-0 QPR

Burnley are promoted back to Premiership after that win, it be interesting to see if they can stay in Premiership for more then one season.

Brighton play Middlesbrough on Saturday to fight it out for last promoted place, Brighton will need to win that match given Middlesbrough have better goal different over them.

Halifax are northern, though, and Altrincham aren't the furthest south...

In fact Fleetwood only need a point to relegate Blackpool providing they don't lose by 16 goals

With Fleetwood lost today there is slight chance Blackpool will avoid relegation if they beat Peterborough and Fleetwood lose to Crewe but I very much doubt Blackpool will beat Peterborough on Sunday anyway. (plus Fleetwood have done quite well at Highbury last few weeks which you expect them to beat/draw against already relegated Crewe)

Well, here we go. Tonight it could all happen. Leicester could win the title. The underdog can pull through against tough opposition. There's a bit of a points cushion between Leicester and their opponent. It's going to be tough - nobody said this would be easy. But...imagine! All those shots aiming at the nets, skidding along the green, over the white lines...

...can Mark Selby win the World Snooker Championship? Can the Jester from Leicester beat Ding Junhui?

Oh, and...some football team can win a competition as well. :D

Disappointing, the county town of Somerset really should have a team at a higher level... but perhaps a few more years to build at the current level wouldn't be a bad thing.

It's a bit of a seesaw at the bottom of the Premier League. Right now, Norwich are 19th and Sunderland are 18th - it's Newcastle who are safe. A point separates Norwich and Sunderland, and then another separates the two northeast teams. Sunderland and Norwich each have a game in hand over Newcastle. Norwich's GD is -26, while Newcastle's is -25 and Sunderland's is -18.
