Good to see Kinch and Trent moving closer, seeing as they share an owner and management structure (Kinchbus is essentially run in the same way as a Trent Barton depot). Might as well let the customers benefit from an expanded network!

I wonder if we'll have "Kinchbus, from trentbarton" in the future?

Is the Nottingham Coaches Bingham Express still running? Just wondering if its a short notice replacement for that? Rail replacement services don't need to be registered unless they plan to serve other bus stops en route and charge fares.

Scratch that, its a NottsBus contract service

Don't know what its for though.
According to roadworks.org Bingham road in Radcliffe will be shut on those days - presumably this operating to cover Bingham buses not being able to serve Radcliffe?

Ah that would make sense. I wonder what yourbus will be using - the smallest vehicle they have is a Streetlite, which seems like overkill to me. I would have said that a NCC Fiat would be best placed for the job.

Roadworks in Radcliffe on Trent prevent the Mainline Nottingham to Bingham buses through & they are running direct along the A52.
Without this service, Radcliffe's every 10 mins service reduces to 1 bus per hour, the Villager 1, which wanders round the villages to get to Bingham. The shuttle is operating about every 30 mins between Radcliffe and West Bridgford but not Radcliffe to Bingham.

The Bingham Express ceased a while ago, replaced by the Mainline service which runs via West Bridgford & Radcliffe.

On a separate matter the Radcliffe Parish Council is trying to persuade EMT to stop more Nottingham - Skegness trains to provide alternatives to the bus service. In view of the bus frequency, this is unlikely .

Y4 has been withdrawn, effective 24th July
Or more registration juggling which they seem pretty good at?!

I made a rare trip to Stapleford on the last bank holiday Monday. The usage between the Y4 and i4 appeared to be split 50/50, but little more than half a dozen on each. On that loading I suspect there was no profit for anyone.

As Premiere went to demonstrate, there probably isn't the demand on that route to support multiple operators.

It's also suprisingly been an area hit by the tram, with the park and ride site at Toton very close.

Getting in the car p, driving to Toton and getting a tram into town can't be any quicker, so I wonder if there's a novelty aspect (like we saw in Hucknall).

Don't forget that there are now an extra two buses an hour on i4 compared to when Red4 ran, with a five minute frequency at peak times.

.

As the poster put, he asked about 'Nottingham Coaches' Bingham Express and not 'Trent Barton' Bingham xprss, which was a different service. And yes it's still advertised on Notts Coaches website as running and no mention yet of it's withdrawl on the county councils monthly update.

Sorry, got that wrong. Not aware of any changes to Nottingham Coaches Bingham Express.

I've been told by a local today, who had it off a bus driver ;) , that the 728 finishes at the end of the month.
Somebody is running a Bulwell to Bestwood Village local.
The 531 from Selston is being extended from Phoenix Park to Bulwell.
Don't know what is happening to Vaughan Estate.

IF true first time Bulwell has had a regular link beyond Nuthall Island since NCTs/Skills 73? went in 1986....

The Vaughan Estate will be ok until the end of October as the 141 is stopping at 728 stops on that part of the route during its diversion because of the bridge closure near Hucknall station. It will be interesting to see if numbers using the 141 between Hucknall and Nottingham increase during this time although those on Papplewick Lane will miss out for a few months.

With all the house building already taken place off Papplewick Lane and many more planned at the Papplewick end of the Vaughan Estate the 141 could become a much busier route between Hucknall and Nottingham during the coming years. I do feel that with the withdrawal of Sunday services many years ago and the recent cutting of evening services on the 141 leaves the whole area, including Bestwood Village, with inadequate services. The 141 may not be able to support a greater frequency than it has now between Hucknall and Mansfield but the evening and Sunday services may be needed again between Hucknall and Nottingham.

Whilst on the subject! One of the biggest inconveniences of the current 141 timetable is the lack of the 3.30pm departure from Nottingham during school terms. When it is only an hourly service cutting out the one at that time in the afternoon is not good. It's just the time when most people who have gone into Nottingham for the day shopping want to return.

They've got quite a few newish ones in Preston (60 plates)! (Makes a change to the old Y and G regs they had pre-stagecoach)...

From what I remember, a subsidised service can't compete with a commercial one so either yourbus will also have to run it commercially or not at all.

I assumed it was a tender change too. YB run it as a tendered service.

The timetable on the Derbyshire website clearly shows the current 59 as being tendered in its entirety but there is nothing about tendering on the new 59 one.

Assuming this is accurate I'd expect Yourbus to be given notice to finish (or at least stop receiving payment) shortly.

The 59 shows as being registered by Notts & Derby last week, with an effective date of 15th August 2016.

Such instances have arisen in N Yorks where NYCC only funded a 2 hourly service and the previous operator ran commercially services to bring it back to hourly; the NYCC funded service was required to accept the return ticket issued by the commercial operator but that operator did not accept the NYCC funded return ticket. Wetherby to York being one such with Eddie Brown running the NYCC funded service and Connexions the commercial ones.

Interesting that the 59 & 11 are well planned to give a half hourly frequency over common sections. And that the N & D 59 will leave Derby at the same time as the Black Cat.
Considering that Trent have 'downgraded' the Black Cat over the last year I wonder if the changes to the 59 are part of plans to alter the Black Cat?
Possible scrapping of parts of the Black Cat on the cards?

Where are rotala using them? They are a good 12 years younger than most of the enviro300s, Solars, Solos etc, that they are using in the Black Country!

There's 6 ex Yourbus Citaro's at Preston Bus & 3 at Diamond Bus NW (Atherton).

Rotala don't operate any Solar which are on Scania Chassis

Evening buses withdrawn from August 1st (10-6-16)

We have been advised by the County Council that from August 1st 2016 Trent Barton will not be running any ‘Villager’ buses after 6.30 pm due to ‘disappointing take up of the service’.

This will be particularly upsetting for the younger folk and the regular users of the evening services (currently 7.30 and 10.10 pm from Friar Lane) who will have to find alternative means of travel.

The Parish Council has asked the County to work with Trent Barton to consider alternative evening links from Radcliffe or Bingham to Cropwell Bishop (and other villages) which could attract more passengers and help make the service viable with minimal subsidy.

The Clerk will publish the revised Villager timetables on the web site as soon as they are available.

These are the Evening Services ,that Phil Stockley agreed to, with him leaving Wellglade to join Hornby at Transdev . They are cutting them:lol:

We got wind of this late Jan , which was why I posted a Premiere 53e timetable on my twitter.

No, they agreed to run them for a trial period, which has now finished. As stated, there has been a disappointing take up. What do you expect them to do, keep losing money?

Its not unheard of for a commercial operator to run some journeys on an overall profitable route. I use the V2 occasionally, admittedly only between the city and Nottingham airport, in the daytime, and it seems pretty well I used I don't know if it is more marginal further from the city though.
