Thanks to Tharris, Granwdazoo and Dan for their suggestions for a West of England day out. It looks like there is plenty to do and I hadn't thought about Cribbs being a major transport hub these days. Changing there for Bath or Weston-super-Mare would avoid going into the city centre, though I'd like to see that too as it has changed considerably in the 14 years since I've seen it.

I might do both a 'city' and a 'country' day if we're still allowed to use those terms.

There a few points where you can interchange (Cribbs, Southmead Hosp, UWE, Kingswood, Hengrove Park/SBH)

Mr White says that 65724 is now back on the road and 37013 now has a purple front

Saw 37011 with its purple front on the 17a at Willsbridge. Looked good in the bright sunlight

To that you could add Bristol Parkway, Fishponds, Westbury-on-Trym and Clifton Downs (and probably a few more places) if you prefer the delights of Bristol's suburbia to the city centre!

Anyone know which T-NUA was heading through Bristol on a low loader at around 14:30? Think it had all over rear ad on it?

Does anyone know if week tickets can be used on the Bath Park & Ride?

Also which of the Bath city routes is the best in your opinion as I'm looking to have an evening explore of the city tomorrow?

Not sure ticket wise but route wise do as much as possible because it sounds like the bath network will be a lot differnt come September

I will try to over the next week then. Today I tried the U1 , 1 up to Coombe Down and the 13 from Foxhill down to town. They are certainly very different to the Bristol City services.

Well I once did 1 from bus station to Upper Weston, then 14 back to bus station. Then 4 to Kingsway, short walk and then 10 down to bus station.

Another one is 15 to Globe roundabout, 16 to Twerton, 5 to bus station.

Try out 6/7 too.

If you look on the Bath & North East Somerset Council website under A-Z services there is a section for Park & Ride. On this P&R section under 'fares' it does quote 'First week and month season tickets can be purchased on board and used on Bath Park and Ride' Hope that might be some help.

Cheers,
That's just what I was looking for.

Of the city routes in Bath, you could try the 14 to Odd Down and then back via the 41 or any of the Radstock services. However, my favourite is to go out to Bathford on the 13 and enter the hidden world of Elmhurst, tucked away in Batheaston where city meets country.
It's true that at its eastern most extreme, the 13 is a hidden gem, but in order to get to it one must endure the southern section of the route, and all I can say is that having used it for a number of years as my local route, the 13 is not to be used for pleasure! It was an absolutely horrible route, getting stuck along London road, then pausing outside Morrisons for five minutes before going the long way into town, which meant further delays. All the while, you would watch as the 231 and 272 sail past on their quicker route into town. Further more, there's now the chance of an 09 plate e200. In my opinion, not recommended.

Saw 44907 on 3 in Weston today, so it isnt in Bath
42916 is back in Bath though, so maybe that explains it.

Know what you mean about London Road and Kensington but was thinking that it was evening (I.e. After the peak?). The southern half is quite dull unless you use it to run back into town on the 1 but the OP has already done that.

You'd have to be unlucky (in many ways) to get an 09 e200.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I decided to take the 4 out to Bathampton before a pleasant walk across to Bathford followed by a ride on an 09 e200 (I think) (44913) back into town.

And before that it was the 6 worked by Bristol L's from Bathampton to Odd Down (Noad's Corner later Glasshouse Cafe). From memory Laira's 14 was Moorlands Estate-Bathampton, 15 Haycombe Cemetery-Parade Gardens and 7/7a Guildhall - Whiteway Circle. History lesson over!

The farthest back I remember is the 14 (Weston-Odd Down) also having a 14a, 14b and 714. The a and b represented different routes in Odd Down, I believe. I seem to remember it also used to stop on Combe Park rather than in the RUH.
