We asked ADL to register then to Cornwall
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---

ADL registered them as per our request.
There is NO external funding. All 30 have been bought by First.

It's our preference. We specified the non standard elements ourselves.

Good, I'm not a fan of leather. It may be easy to clean and doesn't fade, but it's cold and slippery and all too often looks like vinyl, so well done for using moquette. The pattern is interesting.

Thanks for posting Dave. Mind you, if you wanted to understand why I don't do Faceache, it's because of the assorted dumb ass luminaries as shown in this exchange:

Darren Weatherley-cooper
First have just summed it up in one comment... the busses are going to and only gonna be used on there most profitable routes.

And they will all be transferred to Plymouth by Easter!!!

Why Plymouth? First don't operate here anymore and havnt for a year

Stagecoach brought them out and we already have brand new buses on the road anyway

Blimey, things have changed. I've been away for about 4 years now but that's what used to happen, run in Cornwall for a few weeks then swap it for the crap from Plymouth depot.

So a person who witters on about them not being on local routes (to him), can't spell "rich" and thinks they're based in Edinburgh (or is it the shareholders who are probably all over the UK/globe) plus some doughnut who speaks with authority and knowledge of not living there for 4 years not knowing that they've sold their Devon business. Stunning level of insight....

Depressingly, the keyboard warriors who don't have a good word to say about anyone or anything don't only exist on FB. I fear for the future of humanity.

How can you fear for future of humanity just based on that? There's many many other things wrong in the world to make you reach that conclusion.

Thank you for the clarification.

Although they haven't funded them, i'm guessing the figures they were presenting they've invested have helped with the ability for you to invest. Either way its great for Cornwall.

If you mean the growth fund monies, only a small proportion has been spent.
This investment is not dependant on any external funding.
It's been made because First believes that the business is worth investing in.

That is one of the most encouraging statements I have seen in recent times.

Even better news, my note taking is awful and I didn't write his name down, but the figure the Cornwall Council bloke kept repeating was £30m, and then his next slide was mentioning the new buses, almost linking them together. It seems I certainly got the wrong understanding from him doing that, or he was trying to gain credit moving one to the other.
It's great you're able to clarify and correct, thank you.

The green Western National liveried Trident was in Liskeard about 1800 dropping off on the Truro College to Callington service.
It confused me at first seeing a First Bus in this part of the world.

Have to say that looks like a very smart little vehicle IMO

Almost as smart as our two pink Mousehole buses. I'm hoping all of the little buses used on the number 6 route which goes past my bungalow are going to be re-painted thus.

Yeah, I like that livery too. I'd guess that those two will be the regulars (53826 always seemed to be anyway before repaint) with the other slimlines (like 53701) covering as and when

Solo 40321 was at Camborne this morning at 5-15am minus front panels, not sure if it got there under it's own power or was towed in.

Solo's 40324 & 40325 are still there but haven't entered service.

Seen heading south at 1600 today on M5 near Bridgwater was E400MMC in First blue livery. Reg ends BFU, obviously difficult to see the rest while driving on the motorway.

The Scanias aren't leaving!
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---

Between 1 and 2. Last week it was a coach and a Cheetah.

There are only 3 Olympians now in service, including the FalRiver contract vehicle.

Shame the B7RLE's are leaving as good points there far smoother & rattle far less ! than those Scania's Do ! they have a nicer ride to seeing how much work they have done & there Younger ! odd how they got painted in the National Livery though only to Repaint them Green when they move to Somerset . Bad Points they like a Drink :lol::roll: & some are slow on the Up take , but still a nicer Driving position than the Scania to

Well a Plus for the Scania is there quicker & its nice that version of Wright bodywork will still be with us :D as they will go on the 27 93 17 & even the 87 .

I take it the very smart looking 32716 will have to go to , no chance of it staying for contract work ?

That aside its great to see the repaints stared again & First investing here as u have said it will take time but things are changing for the better .

Earlier today I managed to get a look around the new E400MMC at Camborne, grateful thanks are extended to the management staff concerned for allowing this opportunity.

A few more, I did not get the opportunity to ask about service entry etc but I'm sure FSW Oficial will tell us all what he can, when he can.

One thing - when travelling on the lower deck, if you choose the rear seats there is a step up so watch your head. It hurts if you don't!
