Saw it out from Pz again to Penryn on the 13.35. An Atlantic Coaster single decker did the honours on the 12.35 dep, as it did yesterday too.
Keeping branded buses on the right routes seems to have got better lately and in fact that Atlantic Coaster is the only off-route bus I've seen over the past week or so. Even the M6 seems to be having 100% Mousehole liveried Solos!

All the Volvo B7R coaches, 20357, 20358 and 20363 now have a SORN against them. 20357/63 in the last week or two. The only Volvo B9R out of 20801-20805 inclusive without a SORN against it is 20801. Has anybody seen this working?

I have not seen any of them working since they arrived so rather puzzled as to why they moved to Cornwall in the first place.

One is parked at Camborne, the rest I believe are at Penzance.

20801 was last photographed on flickr on Jan 2016 working The X30 between Stanstead and Southend.

There are several later photos of that one on Flickr (Oct 2016) but the only one of the batch pictured in 2017 is one of 20803 parked at Camborne.

What the plan was or is - replace the older 2002/3 coaches (and remaining ex Webber kit)? Or for some additional work that never happened?

From what FSW official said in the past before he stopped posting, I think it was the latter.

Last I heard the example at Camborne was no longer 20803, think that went to Penzance.

The ones there are looking in a rather sorry state apparently. Not surprised they are SORN.

An odd state of affairs assuming that they were in reasonable condition.

20358 is at Camborne and been there for several months, rest believed to be at Penzance.

Strange Tinner sighting this p.m. A Tinner, no. ending in 53 from what I could see, was parked on the A30 stop westbound at St Erth Station, blank screen, door open, driver in cab, there appeared to be passengers at front on the top deck, It was right in to the kerb and right at the front of the bus bay, as though leaving room for another bus to come in behind it. I was in a car waiting to turn left on to the A30, behind other cars, and the bus's position meant you couldn't see what was coming down the A30 at a (legal) 40 MPH. No indicators going, or hazard lights. Probably about 3-4 minutes before I could safely exit.
On the U4 today, saw the Coaster singledeck and the Scania demonstrator, I've not seen the allocated blue MMCs this week, but most days I've not seen one of the duties so one could have been on those.

There was a blue MMC on the U4 on Thursday and Friday.

That was probably the duty that arrives about 3.15 p.m. in PZ, which is the one that usually sees a blue MMC and, I admit, I wasn't around to see that last week!

Just been looking at Steve White's updated First national fleetlist for December 2017. FSW are still shown as owning Olympians 31820/1 34091 34172/3/6/8/9/84/85.
According to the Sheffield Omnibus Enthusiasts Society fleetlists, 34091 34172/3/6/8/9 had been acquired by MASS for spares. Although that company ceased in July 2017.

They are shown on the list as Long term Reserve though they probably have long gone as these lists do tend to miss bits now and again

A quick check on flickr shows 34091/34176 and 34178 at the depot in North Anston, purchased by the owner just before announcing the outright closure of the business. 34178 is shown being collected by a Carlton scrapper in Aug 2017.

34184 was sold to a Glasgow preservationist for spares to assist in restoring a Scottish example.

Two in-service T1s, both Tinners, arrived at Pz Bus Stn within a minute of each other just before 2 p.m. today on a 30 minute frequency.

ALX400 Volvo B7TL 30874 W729DWX left Camborne this week most likely for scrap after spending the best part of the year parked up due to gearbox failure last year. After being stripped of parts the fitters did attempt to put it back together but their efforts appeared to have stalled on that front. Sister bus 30876 has recently had another engine put in it after its own went bang most likely from 30874.

I have that listed as having been scrapped in 2017

Although removed as per the post by MrKnow (post 5038 on the 11th November) I have never seen any confirmation that it was scrapped. It could just be being stored at Winkleigh. I suspect that at the time space was very tight at Camborne with the circa dozen deckers on hire due.

Could I ask two questions about the FSW fleet.
32053 (and 32055) I believe were acquired from First Potteries for spares in 2016. 32055 has gone but I thought I read one report that 53 had been seen at Truro College. Is it still owned by FSW?
53013 I believe is still owned as an ancilliary vehicle. Is it a staff bus?

Thanks for any information
