First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

Could I ask two questions about the FSW fleet.
32053 (and 32055) I believe were acquired from First Potteries for spares in 2016. 32055 has gone but I thought I read one report that 53 had been seen at Truro College. Is it still owned by FSW?
53013 I believe is still owned as an ancilliary vehicle. Is it a staff bus?

Thanks for any information

Both 32053 and 32053 are officially disposed although we are talking First South West so that doesn't always mean they have actually gone.

Link to a photo of 53013 which I think shows it is most definitely not a staff bus

53013 was based at Heartlands near Camborne but I saw it at Penzance depot a while back but it may have since moved on.

Just to clarify. You are talking about this in it's current guise in the photo above?

Yes as shown in the photo. Just to clarify it was at Heartlands as an ex First bus but was at Penzance for a while, possibly for attention.

Guys, is 30882 (W737DWX) still with First Kernow? I've heard a lot about it being disposed of!

Also, what's happening with 33099 (LN51 GLZ), as it's apparently been "abandoned" at Taunton after being de-branded of it's Sheffield stuff.

By the way, it's most likely outdated, but I've found a fleetlist we could use as a guide if we gave information to the website owner once every two weeks or something. Anyway, here it is: http://ukbuses.co.uk/fleet/firstkernow.pdf

30882 was removed from Camborne some time ago, can’t recall who collected it.

Somebody knows but probably not on this board. Last I heard it had been removed from Taunton a couple of months ago to be repaired although where it went I have no idea. It has not been disposed of officially so must be out there somewhere!

Back in December 2015 while going along the M5 from Yorkshire to Cornwall 33099 suffered engine failure. it was towed to Taunton depot. It then took up residence in the yard for over a year. It was still there in January 2017 but I`m not sure when it departed destination unknown.

For the record Olympian 34111 (L311PWR) now has a SORN against it. Probably no coming back from this with new vehicles due.

Mousehole Solo 53709 was seen in Camborne on service 46 this morning. 53704 has also been in Camborne recently for attention. The Optare Metrodecker is still parked here, and has been for over a week now.

Sad for the enthusiast fraternity. However, travelled on it on the Fal River P&R in September and it was showing all its years.

Very nearly the end of an era with only the following Olympian still licenced:
34079, P579EFL at Southampton and due to be delicenced shortly.
and open top vehicles still licenced are
34137, L637SEU at Camborne and
39920, L650SEU at Weymouth.
Surprised the two open top are still licenced unless they are keeping them for special duties.
Still 34167 stored at Slough but I wouldn't think for much longer and goodness knows which Olympians Kernow still have stored and hidden away

Dennis Dart 42872 was on the 10:05 T1 service from Truro bus station to Penzance bus station and fellow Dennis Dart 42860 in GWR Chocolate and cream was on the 10:05 87 service from Truro to Newquay

A five minute drive on the outskirts of Penzance late p.m. peak today uncovered no fewer than six Tinner vehicles, viz a T1 with a U4 immediately behind going out of PZ, a T1 in the opposite direction, an empty bus travelling from depot to bus station and two buses returning to the depot via the by-pass from schools services.

N528LHG and L311PWR both have got a SORN against them, though I need someone to find out what's happening with them

Also, what is happening with P579EFL, as if I can, I'd try and at least get it on my college route permanently until the summer. (Though 34079 is taxed until March)

Could someone also find out where T897KLF has gone? as it's taxed until February

There was also news on P920RYO and P921RYO, as someone said they were put up for sale but no news of where they went, I'm most likely thinking scrap.

We were discussing only recently the FSW Olympians. Steve White's First official fleetlist Dec 2017 says they still own 34091 34172/3/6/8/9/84/85.
But we established all of those except 34184/5 had been sold to MASS, North Anston for spares. 34184 was sold to a Glasgow preservationist for spares/bits.
Position with 34185 not known. (Sorry to repeat all this!)

31820/1 still officially owned by FSW as per Dec 2017 First fleetlist. I wonder what was the source of the news you refer to?

Dennis Trident 33172 in Atlantic Coasters 'A5' livery made a rare appearance on the Tinner route, when it worked the 10:35 T1 service from Truro bus station to Penzance bus station
