Here's hoping the ronnie appears instead of the duff!

I am told a 47 is most likely for the Ayr mini-tour, but that was a few months ago and it depends on availability. WCRC are three 47s down now that 47798 has been returned to the NRM and 47851 and 854 are off the road.

A 37 can be ruled out due to their 80mph top speed and I'll be very surprised if a 33 is used, so expect a Type 4 of some sort.

I heard the same, but booked on the mini tour on a wing and prayer hoping that the ronnie produced instead of the duff. I'd probably need the spoon anyway but rather the 57 or any other class of loco really!

We had enough ronnie miles last time.... 47245 has been quoted many times (and far preferable to a 47/4 it is) but that presumably depends upon how many vac-braked charters there are that day. Still irrelevant compared to whats on the other end ;)

If it is 47245, I will have to bring my red pen with me and do the mini-tour!

Another rather early start...

1Z86 Bir Int'l d0610, Central a1221. 1Z81 Central d1233, Ayr a1341. 1Z85 Ayr d1400, Central a1442. 1Z87 Central d1627, Int'l a2200

Times ta "D1056"

I also think it might be WCRC stock rather than Cargo-D this time, but don;t hold me to that.

Yes, WCRC are providing the stock....which will be pleasant if the weather is like it is at the moment!

Yes Captainbigun, you are correct, WCRC stock, so yes should be pretty good.

Website updated today with confirmed timings for July 11th's run with 87002 to Glasgow and Ayr.

Of note we're running the turning move via The Cathcart Circle with the WCRC Diesel as a passenger, pay on the day fares only apply to this (wether supplement to main tour or just coming along for the oppertunity for a Loco+Coaches around the Cathcart Circle), we don't expect demand to warrant advance booking.

WCRC have had to turn to 37s due to the current shortage of operational 47s in their fleet which, if a 37 was dropped on to the rear on Saturday, would limit the tour to 80mph instead of 95mph, which may be a bit problematic on the WCML at least, although not sure whether the 37s are cleared to be dragged DIT at higher speeds.

We'll see what happens, although at least the WCRC 37's lack of ETS provision won't be a problem as 87002 can supply this comfortably.

Would make more sense to apply the Diesil Engine at Glasgow Central, if not the tour will be going at 80mph which all tours are timed to go at, although for a locomotive of the type to be doing 80mph when it's capable of far more it wouldn't be too good. I find it silly what they are doing it would make more sense to run the 87 down to Ayr detach it then run the Diesil Locomotive to Glasgow Central VIA KILMARNOCK, and for the tour around the Circle, it should only take 15 mins or less. An Ideal run for the 87 would be Largs, beautiful along the coast.

On a train somewhere in Europe
Don't forget, if you run the tail loco separately it will cost more through needing two paths rather than just the one if the whole train ran top & tailed.

There was a WCRC 47 just by Craigentinny a couple of days ago, not sure if it's still there.

I believe 37676 is still in Scotland as well, it worked Polmont - Perth & rtn on Saturday with the diesel leg of an SRPS steam tour, I guess it is still in Scotland and will be back on the Royal Scotsman just wondered whether there was a tour with the posh-ex stock this Sat that it may be out on.
