The Bakerloo must have some of the oldest stock on the network, any plans to renew it?
No 1967 Stock cars are used.Incidentally, does anyone know how many 1967 and 1972 Mk1 vehicles are in the Bakerloo fleet?
I don't think anything is definite yet. The Piccadilly line stock hasn't even been ordered yet.72TS will probably be around until the end of the 2020s, i've read 2028 is when the replacement with DTUP begins but everything seems to be getting delayed again.
It's the 72TS on the Bakerloo line, other than a select few 67TS cars that were modified to enable operation alongside the 72TSThere was a promo video for the new LU deep level trains. Apparently the central will get them too but no announcement when. Piccadilly and Bakerloo should get them first seeing as 1967 stock would be 61 years old in 2028
SourceLondon Undeground has awarded Leeds company Pickersgill-Kaye a £0·5m contract to supply 1 400 emergency alarm pull handle units for the trainsets used on the Bakerloo Line.
The electromechanical assemblies designed to be installed in the saloon wall panels comprise a red handle which when pulled actuates a three-pole electrical switch, sending a signal back to the driver. If the driver does not respond in a set time the train will automatically be brought to a stand.

Yes I remember being told that in 2004 and that it would happen by 2010 shame it never didThey weren't, it was some 72TS Mk1 cars that were modified to run with the 67TS, and they were withdrawn along with the 67TS.
At one point there were proposals (possibly just a rumour?) to modify some of the 67TS cars to provide extra trains for the Bakerloo as part of re-extending it to Watford Junction, but it never happened.
Yeah, we don't even know the winning manufacturer yet (I reckon Siemens though).
Why do you think so? Beyond the Victoria line signalling, they've had very little work with LU. Compared with Bombardier and CAF they've seen no orders in Britain placed for rolling stock since 2015.
They've got proven quality outside of TfL, and I think their design concept was used in all the official preview artwork.
Also, all of the official previews have been Heatherwick studios, I've not seen anything official that has used pictures of their abomination.
The design for the proposed new trains came from Priestmangoode, and not Heatherwick Studios. They are the designers of the bus.Whilst true that they have a track record for quality, they've also got something of a reputation for being more expensive than most, and given TfLs current cash strapped status I'm not convinced that quality ranking of bids will swing the financial ranking enough. 2020s? I could have sworn I have seen early 2030s somewhere as they were to have their life extended quite a bit. Can anyone verify this?
You mean with lots of hitches the first new train on the Piccadilly line isn't expected until 2023 however there are plans to make the current 1973 tube stock comply with the new signalling due to be installed next year correct me if I'm wrong. It varies, latest i've seen is 2028 though the Piccadilly Line has to be done first so it will depend on how smooth that goes, as we know these big projects always run without hitches

Funding, also why the additional Northern/ Jubilee trains are postponed:Why all this delay? Is it due to funding/finance? Why else are we not getting them now?
I thought the Bombardier design looked as if it took a lot of inspiration from the 1938TS...Ah, I was mistaken. I thought the toilet roll cab was the Bombardier design.

That's the one. I always thought it was bombardier, but I do much prefer this design to the Siemens mockup. What Bombardier design? If you mean this one, then it is one that TfL had done by Priestmangoode (as @Mojo pointed out). I certainly can't recall any official Bombardier design being shown
