Then you’d be correct. A class 47 I photographed last Thursday morning at Shenfield station. It was at the rear of a special with an unidentified loco at the other end of the train.

There’s more to the pacer than just the class 142 I guess, so I’ll go with a 143. It’s definitely a unit that has seen better days and is either in need of a refurb or a visit to the scrapyard.
