Pretty much as the title says. Wondering if it's possible to do a 444 journey within London (that isn't Waterloo-Clapham Junction) between Waterloo and Surbiton (or vice versa).
Some services to/from Alton in the peaks are formed of a class 444, which will call at Surbiton. I'm not sure which ones are booked for this.Pretty much as the title says. MON-FRI the only 444's to call at SURBITON are:
UP TO WATERLOO
0640 5 car
1716 10 car
1907 5 car
2116 10 car
ONLY ONE IN THE DOWN DIRECTION
1625 WAT-ALTON 5 car (This is by the way the only Alton service that is a 444 returning with the 1907 at Surbiton)
So you could go 1625 ex WAT and come back on the 1716.
Hope this helps.
It would have been the 16:42 WAT-BAS that was a 5 car 444, first stop Surbiton. Horrendous train to catch - as is/was the 16:25 to Alton.
Is the 16:42 now a 450? (I assume 8 car at least?)

Yes, in the morning the 0911 service to london Waterloo from Southampton Central is usually a 444. It departs from platform 2.Pretty much as the title says.
